The Florida State Boxing Commission issued medical suspensions to eight fighters from this past weekend's Strikeforce: "Miami" card that took place at Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. The event aired on Showtime.

To compound the beleaguering effects of losses, each of the defeated main-card fighters faces suspensions ranging from 30 to 60 days. An indefinite suspension was handed to preliminary-card fighter Craig Oxley, who needs his left ACL cleared by an orthopedic doctor before returning to the cage.

Main-card fighters Marius Zaromskis, Marloes Coenen, Greg Nagy and Wes Sims, as well as preliminary-card fighter John Clarke received 30-day suspension. On the other hand, Melvin Manhoef, who suffered a brutal KO loss at the hands of Robbie Lawler, and prelim-card fighter, Ryan Keenan, were handed 60-day suspensions.

As we reported earlier, Zaromskis is tentatively scheduled to defend his DREAM welterweight title against Kiyoshi Tamura at the upcoming DREAM 13 on March 22. The medical suspension may dent the chance that the Lithuanian fighter will return to Japan in March for his first title defense.
