Open NK Shynkyokushin - Zutphen - 13 februari 2010

Wie zegt dat Mixfight alleen georiënteerd is op MMA heeft het helemaal mis! vandaag zijn wij aanwezig op de OPEN DUTCH CHAMPIONSHIPS van de SHINKYOKUSHIN KARATE bond dat word gehouden in de Hanzehal te Zutphen. Bij aankomst werden wij hartelijk ontvangen door Koen Scharrenberg en zijn lieftallige vrouw Merel. Zoals velen waarschijnlijk al weten is Koen een welbekende naam binnen onze sport en tevens een zeer vakkundige journalist. Het leek mij niet meer dan juist om zijn tekst te citeren als uitleg over het evenement.

Vandaag worden er in de Zutphense Hanzehal 2 Nederlandse kampioenschappen afgewerkt:
1) Het “Dutch Open”.
De open Nederlandse titelstrijd, welke open staat voor deelnemers uit alle landen en alle vechtsportstijlen.
2) Het Nederlands kampioenschap “Kyu-graden”, een toernooi voor karateka’s die nog niet in het bezit zijn van een zwarte band en aange-sloten zijn bij de NSKO (Nederlandse Shin Kyokushin Organisatie)
Voor beide toernooien geldt: Full contact. Bij het kyu-graden toernooi wordt gevochten met scheenbeschermers.

Het is alweer jaren geleden dat de Open Nederlandse Karate-kampioenschappen plaats vonden in Zutphen. Dit is eigelijk een gemis, want nog meer dan vroeger is ons kleine stadje een vecht-sportbolwerk geworden. Karate en judo hadden we natuurlijk al, kickboksen kwam daarbij, en de evenementen van Beast of the East hebben Zutphen ook internationaal nadrukkelijk op de kaart gezet. Met name vanwege een hoog niveau van wedstrijden en een talrijk, enthousiast publiek.

“Zutfunse jongunns” zijn als vechters gevreesd, tot ver buiten de gemeentegrenzen - lees: landsgrenzen.
Het is dan ook geweldig dat hier vandaag, onder auspiciën van de Nederlandse Shinkyokushin Organisatie, de Open Dutch georganiseerd wordt. Ik hoop en verwacht dat het een mooie graadmeter zal zijn hoezeer het karate kan worden beschouwd als topsport.

In het Kyugraden-toernooi zal 'aanstormend' talent zich profileren, terwijl de deelnemers in het Open toernooi ongetwijfeld voor spektakel zullen gaan zorgen. Want (shin)kyokushin karate staat natuurlijk niet voor niets bekend als de hardste stijl ter wereld. Het is tevens een tak van vechtsport waarin respect voor de tegenstander, discipline en sportiviteit nadrukkelijk aanwezig zijn.

Als voorzitter van de NSKO en Europese organisatie EKO ben ik erg blij dat dit evenement hier vandaag plaats vindt.
Alleen mogelijk dankzij noeste arbeid van de toernooi-organisatie, het scheidsrechterscorps en de officials van de NSKO en natuurlijk dankzij de aanwezigheid van coaches, trainers en vechters. Want om die laatsten draait het vandaag. Zij staan helemaal alleen op die mat en moeten alle verwachtingen waar maken, hun zenuwen overwinnen en alles geven wat ze in zich hebben.

Ook temidden van honderden toeschouwers kan die mat het eenzaamste plekje op de hele wereld zijn .... zoals iedereen die ooit een wedstrijd heeft gevochten, in welke vechtsport dan ook, maar al te goed weet.
Daarom vragen wij als organisatie uw respect en waardering voor de vechters zonder terughoudendheid te tonen, op de gebruikelijke positieve en enthousiaste manier. Ik wens u een geweldige dag toe en hoop dat u de Hanzehal, vechtsporttempel bij uitstek, verlaat met een (nog) warm(er) gevoel voor ons karate en zijn beoefenaars.

Je kunt duidelijk merken dat Ronald oog heeft voor de acties. Omdat-ie zelf veel heeft uitgedeeld of geïncasseerd? Raden maar ... haha.
Zonder dollen: complimenten, de sfeer en dynamiek van een evenement en vechtsport heel erg goed weergegeven.

Was een mooie dag, heb genoten van de partijen en van m'n eigen optreden. Een ander spelletje dan het thaiboksen, respect. Helaas door een Kroatische karateka uitgeschakeld, maar niet onaardig gedaan voor een bijna 40 jarige jongenman (lees, conditie tekort).;)

Tim, gefeliciteerd. En ook de felicitaties voor de andere Zutphense boys, goed werk, Michiel, Koen, om een paar te noemen.

Misschien tot volgend jaar.............

Van mij mag dit een jaarlijks terugkomend evenement worden... (hint ;))
Als het volgend jaar weer is zijn wij er ook zeker weer bij. Zoals iemand ook al opmerkte: het evenement werd lekker druk bezocht. Aan belangstelling dus in ieder geval geen gebrek om het nog een keer in Zutphen te herhalen.

Btw. er liepen zaterdag verschillende fotografen rond. Weet iemand toevallig ook of er nog ergens anders foto's te zien zijn?

Het was een mooi tournooi om te zien!! Ik was met een paar luitjes gaan kijken die nog nooit echt kyokushin hadden meegemaakt en ze waren best onder de indruk geloof ik. En zoals Koen Scharrenberg erover kan spreken vind ik altijd erg mooi en inspirerend. Osu!

Lijkt mij ook leuk om naast het kickboxen iets dergelijks te fotograferen dus probeer het zelf ook id gaten te houden....als iemand nog iets weet...............;)
