According to the British website MMABay.co.uk (http://www.mmabay.co.uk/Story%20A%2001026.html), WAMMA Heavyweight Champion and arguably number one Pound-for-Pound fighter in the world Fedor Emelianenko, severely injured his hand in training.

Sources close to "The Last Emperor" (very reliable sources, according to MMABay.co.uk) revealed at the Arnold Exhibition in Columbus that the injury is very serious and could keep the Strikeforce fighter out for a few months.

Fedor Emelianenko and M-1 Global are currently in an advanced stage of negotiations with Strikeforce over the fight against Fabricio Werdum on May 15th at St. Louis, Missouri. If the "injury rumors" will appear to be true, Scott Coker's promotion will have a very tough time lining up an event that could compete with UFC 113: Machida vs Shogun that will take place on May 8th.Gerucht, gevalletje Strikeforce pesten, of toch echt waar? We wachten het af.

Oud lijkt het me toch niet, aangezien het gerucht / nieuws de laatste uren naar buiten gebracht / getwitterd is.
Bovendien zegt het nieuwsbericht het volgende:

Strikeforce have been in negotiations with M-1 Global and Fedor over the fight with Werdum on May 15th in St. Louis, Missouri for a number of weeks, although it has been well publicised that these talks had not been going well. Now with the news of an injury surfacing, this fight could be pushed back to the end of the summer at best if contract wranglings can be sorted out.Dit nieuws ging destijds al de ronde toen het gevecht nog voor april gepland stond. Dit gaat echter over het gevecht wat gepland staat voor mei.

reveald that WAMMA heavyweight champion, Fedor Emelianenko has suffered a hand injury in training that could see him sidelined for a number of months, putting his latest fight with Fabricio Werdum in doubt.

The news was revealed to Chris Greenman while on the floor at the Arnold Exhibition today in Columbus, Ohio while discussing the state of the Strikeforce heavyweight division with a source close to the situation. It has since been confirmed by a further two reliable sources.

Strikeforce, M-1 Deal Close; Fedor Back in June (http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Strikeforce-M-1-Deal-Close-Fedor-Back-in-June-23111)

gimme some more

Emelianenko, the crown jewel of M-1’s fighter management efforts, was rumored to have re-injured his left hand in a Sambo competition a few weeks ago, though Kogan said those reports are false. Emelianenko is healed from his November bout against Brett Rogers (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Brett-Rogers-16048) and is back in full-time training, said Kogan. The M-1 rep said the national sambo champion didn’t re-agitate the hand he broke in the Rogers’ bout, but instead voluntarily withdrew from the tournament so he wouldn’t have to face his brother Aleksander, who was also competing.

Evgeni Kogan, M-1 Global’s Director of Operations talks to sherdog.com:
"I think June, July is realistic (for Emelianenko’s return)."
"We were renegotiating. I think we’re pretty much at the end of that road," said Kogan. "After the CBS show, we thought that the terms needed a little bit tweaking -- nothing major, just a little bit of tweaking. So, we had a round of negotiations with Strikeforce. Everything went positively. We’re pretty much at the end."

"Obviously, we are much more than the management company for Fedor," said Kogan. "For us, it’s really important that the M-1 Global brand is acknowledged on these co-promotion events. As much as the partners made a lot of effort to acknowledge the co-branding, the media basically picked up on the fact that it was Strikeforce and kind of forgot about everything else, which wasn’t the most ideal for us."
