Strikeforce women's middleweight champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos (9-1 MMA, 3-0 SF) is slated to make her next title defense at the place she first won the belt.

Rather than fighting at a June 16 event in Los Angeles, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told MMAjunkie.com Santos instead is expected to fight at the organization's June 26 show in San Jose, Calif.

As Coker sees it, that'll mean the world's top female fighter and top male fighter will be showcased on the same night.

"Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Werdum" takes place at the HP Pavilion and marks the long-awaited return of famed heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, who meets former UFC fighter Fabricio Werdum in the Showtime-televised main event. Emelianenko, a former longtime PRIDE champ who owns a remarkable 32-1 career mark, is widely regarded as one of the sport's pound-for-pound best with Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre.

"I think we're going to move the 'Cyborg' fight to San Jose on the 26th," Coker said. "You'll be able to come to San Jose or watch Showtime, and you'll be seeing the No. 1 male and the No.1 female fighter in the world fighting on the same night."

No opponent has been determined for Santos, who won the vacant belt with an August 2009 TKO win over Gina Carano and defended it with another TKO victory over Marloes Coenen in January.

Coker said the organization is searching internationally for the best available option for Santos, who won the 2009 World MMA Award for "Best Female Fighter."

"We're still working on the details, but it will be somebody tough," Coker said. "We're looking at a couple of girls from Europe. We're going to put somebody in there who will once again test her."

That's something few fighters have done. Since a loss to Erica Paes in her pro debut five years ago, Santos has posted nine consecutive victories. Seven have come via stoppage, including a third-round TKO of Japanese star Hitomi Akano in Santos' Strikeforce debut in April 2009.
