Vorige week was er het bericht dat dit toch op de undercard zou worden gezet, maar nu heeft de UFC toch besloten deze partij op de main card te laten zien!

wie gaat het winnen? voor de verliezer is het zuur en allicht een enkeltje terug naar huis, een zeer belangrijke pot voor beiden.

Ik hoop dat het een beetje gaat als bij Arlovski tegen Rothwell.
Yvel moet alleen niet op de grond komen, want Rothwell heeft echt een kneiterharde GnP.

UFC heavyweight slugger, Gilbert Yvel has revealed he’s still reeling from his January defeat at the hands of much hyped Brazilian knockout artist, Junior dos Santos and will be looking to make amends next weekend when he takes on Ben Rothwell at UFC 115 in Vancouver, Canada.

Speaking via the Las Vegas Sun (http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/jun/05/gilbert-yvel-prepared-ufc-115-eager-move-debut/), Yvel said:

“Losing is always very bad. Walking out of the cage or ring not a winner, it’s just like, I failed. It’s the worst thing ever. And OK, you can lose, but to be done so quick without even putting up a good fight — it was just terrible.”

Yvel revealed that due to his reputation for intense sparring and the timing of the fight being so close to Christmas, his preparations were far from perfect.

“I started with two sparring partners. One got knocked out in our first session and the other I did three rounds and he didn’t show up anymore. Everybody was doing the Christmas thing. But we wanted to get in the UFC and this was our chance. I knew the conditions weren’t right but I said I didn’t care. I will fight prepared or not prepared. Sometimes you have to work with the things you’ve got.”
“I sincerely hope Dos Santos will become the champ so I can beat him. He beat me in my debut and I honestly think he’s doing really well right now. I can see him becoming the next champ. It would be great to avenge myself and take the belt from him when he’s at his high point.”

Yvel is in desperate need of a win coming into this one having lost his sole fight inside the octagon. That said, Rothwell finds himself in a similar position after going down at the hands of another of the divisions young lions, Cain Velasquez.
