The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) today issued its list of medical suspensions for the Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Werdum" event that took place this past Saturday night (June 26) at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.

With several of the bouts ending early (and violently), there were a handful of fighters who were flagged follow up visits with their doctors.

Chief among them is Jan Finney for her starring role in the snuff film directed by Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos. "Cuddles" could be shelved for up to 180 days pending a physician's clearance due to multiple facial injuries.

Also getting benched for taking a lopsided beating was the venerable Scott Smith. "Hands of Steel" suffered facial lacerations from the onslaught of middleweight foe Cung Le.

But that's not all.

Here is the complete list of Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Werdum" injuries and their medical instructions:

Gareth Joseph: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons pending a new physical.
Ron Keslar: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons pending a new physical.
Josh Thomson: Suspended 180 days (180 days no contact) for a rib fracture pending physician's clearance.
Jan Finney: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for knockout loss pending a new physical. Additional suspensions of 60/60 for right facial lacerations and 180/180 for orbital fracture pending physician's clearance.
Scott Smith: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for knockout loss pending a new physical. Additional suspension of 60/60 for left facial laceration pending physician's clearance.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.

knap dat thomson door had gevochten met een gebroken rib. Ik heb echt een positieve indruk van hem.
