Op weg naar de Belt van Elderveld rij ik door een witte wereld. Er is een dik pak sneeuw gevallen en het sneeuwt nog even vrolijk door. Prachtig om een boswandeling te maken, leuk voor een sneeuwballengevecht, maar als je een vechtsportgala hebt georganiseerd ga je je misschien toch een beetje zorgen maken. Kunnen de vechters allemaal wel de plek van bestemming bereiken? Komen potentiële bezoekers nog de deur uit of laat het publiek het afweten?

Het gala begint dan ook niet om 16.00 uur, zoals oorspronkelijk gepland, maar loopt (dit keer met een goeie reden) enigszins vertraging op. Maar als we dan een kwartiertje of 3 later van start gaan staat de boel ook goed. De hal is lekker vol gelopen, er staan 20 goeie partijen op het programma, en ook de beveiliging en de mensen van de WFCA hebben allemaal de weg weten te vinden. Tijd dus voor een nieuwe editie van de Belt van Elderveld.

Het viermanstournooi, waar de belt valt te winnen waar het evenement naar is genoemd, heeft ook wat schade opgelopen. Eén van de deelnemers heeft moeten afhaken, één was er te licht, dus bleven er 2 over. Het werd deze keer dus een partij om de belt, i.p.v. een tournooi.

Tot slot nog wat andere pics... waarbij eerst deze... De foto's van Nicky en Ruben beginnen al een klein beetje traditie te worden :) . Nope, helaas niet. Maar ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat ik al blij was met deze ene partij. Nog niet al te lang geleden was er veel meer op mma-gebied te beleven dan op het moment. Beast of the East had altijd wat op het programma staan, Shooto had mooie evenementen, er was meer dan genoeg te doen. Helaas is het tegenwoordig armoe troef als het om mma gaat :( . Wat dat betreft was ik blij dat de Belt van Elderveld er in ieder geval weer één op het programma had staan.
