In March, the UFC makes its first-ever trip to Seattle, and a highly anticipated featherweight rematch will be featured on the evening's main card.

UFC executives today announced that UFC Fight Night 24 takes place March 26 at Key Arena in Seattle and airs on Spike TV.

While the card is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight contest between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Tito Ortiz, Leonard Garcia (15-6-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) vs. Nam Phan (16-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) II is the first fight officially announced for the event.

Both the event and the rematch were previously reported by MMAjunkie.com (http://mmajunkie.com/).

Garcia and Phan previously met on the main card of December's The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale event, where "Bad Boy" was awarded a split-decision victory that had many MMA fans and observers up in arms.

Following the result, both fighters remained confident they deserved the victory.

"The first round was mine," Garcia told MMAjunkie.com. "I landed the harder shots. He landed maybe 10 or 11 punches in the first round, and I landed like 30 or 40. My technique's a little bit different than his. I throw everything into every punch, and he tries to stay clean and do small increment punches.

"Mine looks a little more wild, but I definitely did more damage."

Phan, meanwhile, told MMAjunkie.com Radio that he won all three rounds.

"You've still got to land those punches," he said. "Most of the time he hit air."

On March 24 (hopefully) the argument will be laid to rest.

The latest rumored card for UFC Fight Night 24 includes:

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Tito Ortiz*
Dan Hardy vs. Anthony Johnson*
Leonard Garcia vs. Nam Phan
John Hathaway vs. Kris McCray*
Duane "Bang" Ludwig vs. Amir Sadollah*
Jon Madsen vs. Mike Russow*
Mario Miranda vs. Aaron Simpson*
Sean McCorkle vs. Christian Morecraft*
Michael McDonald vs. Nick Pace*
Dennis Hallman vs. T.J. Waldburger*
Alex Caceres vs. Mackens Semerzier*

Jon Madsen vs. Mike Russow official for UFC Fight Night 24 prelims (http://mmajunkie.com/news/22222/jon-madsen-vs-mike-russow-official-for-ufc-fight-night-24-prelims.mma)

Heavyweights Jon Madsen (7-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and Mike Russow (13-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) will meet at UFC Fight Night 24.

UFC execs today officially announced the matchup, which takes place on the preliminary portion of the March event.

MMAjunkie.com previously reported the contest.

Featuring a light heavyweight matchup between longtime veterans between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, "UFC Fight Night 24: Ortiz vs. Nogueira" takes place March 29 at Seattle's KeyArena and airs on Spike TV.

Tickets for the event go on sale this week.

Russow, a Chicago cop, is back on the MMA beat after suffering a broken arm in his most recent fight, a spectacular come-from-behind knockout win over Todd Duffee at UFC 114. Easily one of the best comebacks in the promotion's recent history, the performance put another $65,000 in his pocket with "Knockout of the Night" honors. And it certainly muted a bland taste left by his octagon debut, when he took on Justin McCully at UFC 102 and ground out an unexceptional decision win.

Madsen, meanwhile, is on a bit of a tear since his turn on "The Ultimate Fighter 10." The H.I.T. Squad-trained fighter is now 4-0 inside the octagon and most recently sent veteran Gilbert Yvel packing with a first-round TKO win at UFC 121. It was Madsen's first stoppage victory after three consecutive decision wins against Karlos Vemola, Mostapha Al-Turk and fellow "TUF 10" castmate Justin Wren.

Madsen has yet to meet defeat in his professional career.

Lightweights Nik Lentz and Waylon Lowe sign on to UFC Fight Night 24 (http://mmajunkie.com/news/22508/lightweights-nik-lentz-and-waylon-lowe-sign-on-to-ufc-fight-night-24.mma)

Takedown artists Nik Lentz (20-3-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and Waylon Lowe (10-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) are the latest additions to UFC Fight Night 24.

The lightweights meet on the event's preliminary card, according to sources close to the event who today told MMAjunkie.com that bout agreements are in place. MMADiehards.com (http://mmadiehards.com/features/lightweights-nik-lentz-and-waylon-lowe-meet-at-ufn-24/) first reported the matchup.

UFC Fight Night 24 takes place March 26 at KeyArena in Seattle and airs live on Spike TV.

A light-heavyweight tilt between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira headlines the 12-deep card.

Lentz most recently took on Tyson Griffin this past November at UFC 123 and earned an upset split-decision win over the lightweight standout. It was Lentz's fourth victory inside the octagon.

Still, the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy product has received stern criticism for a perceived "lay-and-pray" approach to fighting. Prior to the Griffin victory, Lentz met Andre Winner at UFC 118 and took the British fighter down at will in a one-sided (and less-than-explosive) affair. The fight aired live on Spike TV as part of a free "UFC Prelims" special for the Aug. 28 event and drew a series-low 1.1 million viewers (http://mmajunkie.com/news/20492/ufc-118-ufc-prelims-special-draws-series-low-1-1-million-viewers-on-spike-tv.mma).

Lowe, meanwhile, earned a second consecutive win this past month with a decision over Brazilian Willamy Freire in his most recent appearance at "UFC Fight Night 23: UFC Fights for the Troops 2." Much like Lentz, he dominated the fight on the mat, and despite running low on gas in later rounds, he managed to minimize Freire's striking.

Prior to the January fight, Lowe earned a split-decision win over Steve Lopez at UFC 119, which reversed a body-shot KO he suffered against Melvin Guillard in his octagon debut this past May at UFC 114.

The latest UFC Fight Night 24 card now includes:

Tito Ortiz Out of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Bout, Phil Davis In

Tito Ortiz (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Tito+Ortiz/) has pulled out of his main-event bout next month against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Antonio+Rogerio+Nogueira/) and will be replaced by Phil Davis (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Phil+Davis/).

UFC president Dana White made the announcement Saturday afternoon on his Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/#!/danawhite/status/39087416648269824). Ortiz-Nogueira was scheduled to headline the UFC's Fight Night 24 show in Seattle, the promotion's debut in that city.

Instead, Davis (8-0, 4-0 UFC) will get his first taste of a main event, stepping in for Ortiz, the former light heavyweight champion. White's announcement on Twitter said Ortiz needed stitches and was out of the bout. Ortiz confirmed the news (http://twitter.com/#!/titoortiz/status/39093222596812800) in a Twitter post of his own Saturday afternoon, saying he needed 22 stitches and had suffered a concussion.

Ortiz (15-8-1, 14-8-1 UFC) perhaps sees his career take another setback. The former UFC light heavyweight champion, who defended his title five times between 2000-2003, has not won a fight in more than four years and has suffered through several injuries and surgeries, not to mention a highly publicized spat with White.

Ortiz last won at a special UFC Fight Night card for his trilogy with Ken Shamrock. He won by TKO in the first round, completing a 3-0 sweep of his heated rival. But since then, he lost a light heavyweight title fight to Chuck Liddell at UFC 66, had a draw with Rashad Evans at UFC 73 (Ortiz lost a point for grabbing the fence) and had lost three straight decisions to Lyoto Machida, Forrest Griffin and, most recently, Matt Hamill at UFC 121.

Davis was expected to face Matt Hamill at UFC 129 in Toronto in April. But when Hamill replaced Thiago Silva for a fight against Rampage Jackson at UFC 130, Davis was left without an opponent. Jason Brilz, who lost a controversial split decision to Nogueira at UFC 114, stepped in to face Davis. But now he, too, will await a replacement opponent.

Davis is coming off a Submission of the Night win over Tim Boetsch in November at UFC 123 in Detroit. The one-armed, modified kimura was perhaps the first ever seen in a live MMA bout, and Davis told Joe Rogan post-fight that it was called "The Mr. Wonderful," after his nickname.

The win over Boetsch made Davis 4-0 in 2010, all in the UFC, including a decision win over Brian Stann, a submission over Alexander Gustafsson and a decision over Rodney Wallace.

The Pennsylvania native was a Division I national champion wrestler at Penn State and a four-time All-American.

Nogueira (19-4, 2-1 UFC), twin brother of Antonio Rodrigo, started his UFC career with a Knockout of the Night win over Luiz Cane and followed it up with his split decision win over Brilz. But at UFC 119 in September, he was dominated by Ryan Bader, who out-wrestled him with five takedowns en route to a 30-27 scorecard sweep.

In Nogueira's legendary Pride career, he holds two wins over current Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and a submission win over Dan Henderson.

UFC Fight Night 24 will take place at the Key Arena in Seattle on March 26. Besides the new bout between Davis and Nogueira, the main card features a welterweight bout between former top contender Dan Hardy and Anthony Johnson; a featherweight rematch between Nam Phan and Leonard Garcia; and a welterweight fight between "The Ultimate Fighter" winner Amir Sadollah and Duane Ludwig. The main card will air live on Spike TV.

Anthony Johnson and Dan Hardy Plan to Swing Until Someone Drops

If you like a good old-fashioned throwdown, make sure you're on the couch on Saturday night when Dan Hardy (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Dan+Hardy/) and Anthony Johnson (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Anthony+Johnson/) get set to do work in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 24 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+Fight+Night+24/).

Considered two of the UFC welterweight division's biggest punchers, the two virtually guaranteed that every moment of the fight would be filled with stand-up action, until one of them is no longer able to stand.

"I'm not planning to go to the ground with Anthony," Hardy told MMA Fighting during a teleconference. "I'm planning to send him down on his own."

Johnson felt even more strongly about the chances of seeing any grappling or groundwork.

"Hell, no. This fight ain't going to the ground," he said. "You're talking to two guys who love to bang, plain and simple. We don't like that lovey-dovey stuff, we want to keep it on the feet, give everybody what they want, what they pay their money for."

The fight involves some potentially big stakes; Hardy is on a two-fight losing streak while Johnson will be fighting for the first since a Nov. 2009 submission loss to Josh Koscheck. Given the deep welterweight talent pool, the loser risks being left behind if not cut altogether.

The bout might have more importance for Hardy, who was knocked out for the first time in his career after more than 30 fights at UFC 120. Hardy said there were no psychological ramifications to having his lights shut off for the first time, and that he was back in the gym just days later.

He attributes the KO loss to Carlos Condit to his own overconfidence and a belief in his superiority as a striker, and said he has no qualms about continuing on with his aggressive striking style, even though he acknowledged it's sometimes "a roll of the dice." That is part of the fun of fighting for him, and he wants the pressure of it, along with a feeling that he may even be fighting for his job.

"It happens," he said of the knockout. "It's annoying. The thing that annoys me about it is that Condit thinks he's a better fighter than me now and i know in my heart that's not true. But as far as actually getting knocked out, let's be honest, it doesn't hurt. I opened my eyes and had doctors around me and knew exactly what happened straight away. But there's no pain, nothing to be scared of. It's one of those things, sometimes it happens. It doesn't change anything. I'm going to keep doing exactly what I do because I love doing it."

While he was rehabilitating his knee, Johnson voiced a possibility of moving up to middleweight but says now he threw out the possibility to keep his name in the news, and that he was never serious about the idea. Now, though, he plans to put his name in the headlines with his performance.

"I try to make a statement every time I fight to let everybody know who I am," he said. "That's just who I am, period. I have to go out there and show I'm back. It's time to go out there, put them hands up, and do what me and Dan do best, and that's throw punches and throw blows and knock people out. So one way or another, somebody's getting knocked out."
