Jon ’Bones’ Jones hit an unwelcome setback in training today - when his car was ploughed into and written off.
Jones’ vehicle was badly damaged (see picture) but the UFC light-heavyweight and his passengers walked away unhurt.

“I just got into a car accident, police said it wasn't my fault.. I walked away without a scratch, GOD IS GOOD,” he wrote on his Twitter account.
“Hopefully I get blessed with one of the fight bonuses, my insurance hasn't kicked in yet and I may have just taken a major loss… Everyone's okay, me and some team mates were on our way to the dog park in between practices, good thing we were all wearing our seatbelts.”
He added shortly afterwards, “I refuse to allow this situation to steal my joy, the fight will go on.”
And in response to a fan enquiry asking if the other person involved in the accident was OK he wrote, "I really hope so, she was taken away on a stretcher."
Jones is fighting undefeated Ryan Bader at UFC 126 on February 5th in what will be a key fight for the light-heavyweight contender picture. The winner will probably not find himself in a title shot situation immediately but will certainly have levered himself into the frame.
Bader is 12-0 with five wins in the UFC while Jones is 11-1 because of a disqualification loss for using an illegal elbow on Matt Hamill. The fight was moments from being stopped due to the damage Hamill was taking and Jones is for all intents and purposes still undefeated.
