It's Showtime has announced six bouts for what will be its second offering in the month of May, as the promotion will return to The Sand in Amsterdam on May 21st. Featured fighters will include Hesdy Gerges (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/122849/hesdy-gerges), Mohamed Khamal (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/122839/mohamed-khamal), Robin van Roosmalen, Anderson "Braddock" Silva, and Mohamed Medhar.

It's Showtime heavyweight champion Hesdy Gerges is scheduled to face England's Chris Knowles in the first of two heavyweight bouts announced for the evening. Gerges is fresh off of an impressive victory over K-1 (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/promotion/k-1) standout Daniel Ghita (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/122852/daniel-ghita) and the promotion would appear to be giving him a showcase bout prior to his meeting with Alexey Ignashov. That said, Knowles is a solid Muay Thai fighter now training out of the Minotaur Gym. There was actually talk of the Brighton native replacing Hesdy Gerges in a bout against Rico Verhoeven the last time that It's Showtime was at The Sand, though Chakuriki product Frank Munoz stepped in instead. Knowles is currently coming off of a March 12th victory in Slovakia.
Perhaps the most intriguing bout announced thus far is the second edition of Mohamed Khamal and Robin van Roosmalen. The two met in the semifinals of the K-1 World MAX 2010 West Europe Tournament last March, with Khamal scoring a knockout victory and going on to secure the tournament win. Khamal has had mixed results against top competition since that tournament, winning a very memorable extension round decision against Mosab Amrani the last time It's Showtime traveled to The Sand on December 18th. Van Roosmalen has gone 5-1 since that defeat, with his majority decision victory over Chahid Oulad el Hadj at at Fightingstars Presents: It's Showtime Sporthallen Zuid Amsterdam still fresh in the mind of fans. The Dutch fighter also defeated David Kyria at the United Glory (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fight-card/71073/united-glory-mma-kickboxing-world-series) event on March 19th.
Jamal Ben Saddik will meet the veteran Anderson "Braddock" Silva in a bout that should provide a real sense as to where exactly the young fighter stands. Ben Saddik entered his March 6th bout against Rico Verhoeven a considerable underdog and has surprisingly continued to fly under the radar despite defeating Verhoeven in emphatic fashion. For his part, Silva rose quickly to the ranks of It's Showtime following his stoppage victory over Stefan Leko in October 2009. The Brazilian also holds victories earlier in his career over two current It's Showtime champions, heavyweight titlist Hesdy Gerges and 95 kg. kingpin Danyo Ilunga. Silva stands at 3-3 since his win over Leko, dropping two bouts to Mourad Bouzidi and scoring a stoppage victory over Freddy Kemayo (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/122854/freddy-kemayo) on December 18th.
Mohamed Medhar and Hafid El Boustati are scheduled to meet on the evening, as Medhar will be looking to bounce back from his March 6th loss to Warren Stevelmans. El Boustati fought Spain's Manuel Hinojo to a draw on the El Desafio K-1 fight card back in February - yes, the same event that saw Abraham Roqueni top Andy Souwer. This bout should be an excellent test for Medhar, and a chance for him to score a victory over a skilled veteran opponent. El Boustati was scheduled to face Fatih Ozkan on a separate fight card in early May, but will now be replaced in that bout by Leroy Kaestner as he has been given the chance to fight on the bigger stage.
Armenian Sahak Parparyan will look to follow up his victory over Marco Vlieger at last weekend's It's Showtime event in Brussels with another solid showing against Amir Zeyada. Zeyada, who trains at Chakuriki Gym and was set to appear under the It's Showtime banner last December, actually holds two stoppage victories over Tyrone Spong. Rounding out the announced bouts, Jason Wilnis will face off against Laurent Atriffi. Wilnis defeated Geronimo de Groot at The Sand on December 18th.
More details on the May 21st card will certainly pop up in the coming weeks.
