Mired in a three-fight losing streak, Tyson Griffin (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Tyson+Griffin/) is in danger of losing his job in the UFC. But Griffin will get one more chance to try to turn things around, as the UFC has announced (http://twitter.com/ufc/status/55352024459509760) that he'll move down to featherweight to take on Manny Gamburyan (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/Manny+Gamburyan/) at UFC on Versus 4.

For Griffin, the move down to featherweight makes a lot of sense. He has had a great deal of success at 145 pounds in the past (he beat Urijah Faber to win the Gladiator Challenge featherweight title in 2005), and he probably would have stayed at 145 all along if the UFC had had a 145-pound division. In that sense, he's a lot like Gamburyan, who left the UFC's lightweight division for the WEC's featherweight division in 2009.

Gamburyan lost to featherweight champion Jose Aldo in his most recent fight, but prior to that he had won three straight since losing 10 pounds. Griffin has lost to Nik Lentz, Takanori Gomi and Evan Dunham, although only the first-round knockout loss to Gomi was a bad one; the Lentz and Dunham losses were both split decisions.

The fight, which will take place June 26, should be a very entertaining one in the featherweight division. Both Gamburyan and Griffin are exciting fighters who have active, fast-paced fighting styles, and it's hard to picture this fight being boring.
