HISTORIC DAY IN MMA AS YOUTUBE ANDFIGHTGAME STREAM FIRST EVER PAY PER VIEW EVENT “THE GLORY WORLD SERIES”
To watch the event in the USA: http://www.youtube.com/fightgametv#p/u/0/LJAfY4lOcLU (http://www.youtube.com/fightgametv#p/u/0/LJAfY4lOcLU)
The original deal for tonight's cutting edge endeavourbetween Fightgame and Youtube was to stream worldwide. However, Youtube was notable to obtain appropriate clearances in time for the Glory World Series XIV. However,Fight Game TV has assured its monstrously loyal fan base that worldwide pay perview is just around the corner. Tonight's event displayed an incredibly highfighting level with numerous knockouts and submissions backed up by world classproduction. Fight critics are already calling it one of the best shows of theyear and wholeheartedly believe there are many more to come.
Fight Fans were fed an electricseries of MMA and Kickboxing bouts that were all backed with action. UFC alumDenis Stojnic sank in a Rear Naked Choke with 1 second left in the first roundagainst an unexpectedly game opponent Pavel Zhuravlev. Stojnic landed some hardshots that dizzied but never put Zhuravlev away. Both fighters exhaustedStojnic’s experience and strength eventually wore Zhuravlev out and allowed forthe submission victory.
In a battle of bad blood, ErrolZimmerman battered and bruised his way past Mourad Bouzidi in an impressiveunanimous decision. Several times it looked as if Zimmerman would score theknockout, but Bouzidi kept getting up until the final bell. Even after alopsided loss Bouzidi showed his ill will and came at Zimmerman after the fightwas over. Errol showing his class didn’t give in or retaliate to the antics. Zimmermanwhen focused is an absolute threat to any heavyweight in Kickboxing.
The most impressive victory and evenmore endearing story of the night definitely belongs to Mark"Fightshark" Miller. Miller was making his awe-inspiring return tothe fight game after not only losing both his parent in a short period of timebut undergoing open heart surgery. Doctor’s took the fighter’s heart out of hisbody, but couldn’t take it from his soul. Never before done, this return saw anemotional Miller step into the ring against a heavily favored Nikolaj Falin, amainstay on the heavyweight kickboxing circuit and a real threat. Falin hasbeaten and held strong against the elite strikers in the world. Most recentlynearly lasting the distance against the most gifted striker in the world GokhanSaki. Falin’s night would be much shorter in Moscow. In the time it took me to recline inmy Lazy Boy, Miller’s overhand right knocked Falin out. Cold. In just 3seconds. Even after moments passed, Falin was staggered as his corner triedhelping him to his feet. All he could do is ask “what happened”. Mark“FightShark” Miller is back and in a big way, that’s what happened.
Following Miller was an MMA boutfeaturing Dion Staring, a fighter more people around the world should know. Heis a beast and legit. And improves every time he walks out into a fight. TrainerMartijn de Jong did a marvelous job, as you could hear him screaminginstructions throughout the night in many fights. Another MMA fight where deJong was crucial was when Jason Jones dominated, then started to tire and struggleagainst Houston Alexander last minute replacement Shamil Abdoulmouoslimov. Regainingcomposure with excellent cornering Jones landed a destructive knee that endedthe night for Abdoulmouoslimov.
And in one of the most anticipatedfight of the night, Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix semi finalist SergeiKharitonov took a night off from MMA and went to battle in Mighty Mo’srealm of kickboxing. Both Mo and Kharitonov are intimidating and hit harderthan a stable of mules. After a few wild rights that would have knocked down an80-year-old Oak tree narrowly missed Kharitonov’s head, the Russian crept incloser. Kharitonov then unleashed a gut-wrenching uppercut that rocked thestadium and the ruckus Russian crowd as Mighty Mo crumbled. Several minutes laterMo was still unaware of where he was or what just ended his night. Kharitonovjust made Josh Barnett and Brett Rogers cringe for a second time in a short fewmonths. I assure you, neither one will be excited to eat that punch.
In the MMA $150.000.- finals bothSiyar Bahadurzada and Tommy Depret showed great skills and big hearts. Deprettook a non-stop attack from Siyar but never stopped or gave in until thereferee was forced to step in and stop the fight. Siyar, still relativelyunknown in America hasdeveloped quite a name amongst fans in Europe.I wouldn't be surprised to see the UFC give him a shot after this tournamentwin. Bahadurzada is clearly a threat to any top ten welterweight in the world.
The kickboxing $150.000.- finals sawGokhan Saki out skill and out class a bigger, taller Brice Guidon. To Guidon’scredit he showed massive heart and aggression, but there was clearly aseparation in abilities. Saki also announced before the fight he has 1 fightleft in kickboxing then will be focusing on transitioning into MMA. This shouldbe interesting.
