Daniel Ghita
Before he gets to face off against Badr Hari, Daniel Ghita is set to take on Turkish fighter Erhan Deniz tomorrow in Warsaw.

Deniz is most likely pretty unknown to kickboxing fans with a short memory and most likely those with longer than average memories as well. He had a breakout year of sorts in 2007 when he won his K-1 debut. He was offered the reserve bout in K-1's Hong Kong tournament of that year where he KOed Dong Wook Kim. He was unfortunately injured in the fight and was forced to turn down the opportunity to step in against Musashi. And just like that he missed out on the biggest opportunity of his career.

Now, four years later, he's offered another huge opportunity in a fight against Daniel Ghita. Unfortunately for Deniz, opportunities against Daniel Ghita have a habit of ending painfully. After two straight unlucky decisions Daniel Ghita got what he hopes to be a nice win streak started against Fikri Ameziane last month. Ameziane took the fight on short notice assuming it would be a no lose situation for him. He went home unable to walk. Ghita unleashed his famous leg kicks over and over on Ameziane to score a brutal leg kick TKO. It was a perfect display of the kind of power Ghita packs in his legs. Ameziane showed real toughness in trying to get back to his feet, but he was merely extending the inevitible.

Ghita already had this fight booked before he took on Ameziane, and that's the case here as well. It's Showtime recently announced that Daniel Ghita would be taking on Badr Hari in three months. It's a fight fans have wanted It's Showtime to put on since Badr's return. By announcing the fight before this one it's clear that It's Showtime is looking for Ghita to put up an impressive win here. It's a showcase fight leading up a much more interesting fight between two of their biggest stars. Granted Ghita could always lose, and though that wouldn't kill the Badr fight it would definitely take some of the steam out of it. Considering Deniz' experience here however, it seems like a pretty safe gamble for It's Showtime to be making.

You can watch the event on pay per view, which also happens to be It's Showtime's 50th event, tomorrow morning at 12:00 PST/9:00 EST on pay per view at showtimefights.com for ten Euros or about fourteen buck
