A pair of fighters with ties to "The Ultimate Fighter" have been released by the world's largest mixed martial arts promotion.

"The Ultimate Fighter 3" winner Kendall Grove (12-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) and "The Ultimate Fighter 13" semifinalist Chuck O'Neil (8-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) were each recently cut from the UFC roster.

Both fighters confirmed the move on their respective Facebook accounts.

Grove's release comes after a UFC 130 loss to Tim Boetsch via unanimous decision. The defeat was Grove's second-straight loss, and he dropped to just 1-1 in his previous four fights.

After defeating Ed Herman in the finale of "TUF 3," Grove opened his octagon career with three-straight wins. However, the lanky submission ace went just 4-6 in his final 10 UFC fights.

Meanwhile, O'Neil was dropped after suffering a unanimous-decision loss to Chris Cope at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.

Originally selected as an alternate for "TUF 13," O'Neil made his way on to the show when Myles Jury was forced out of the tournament due to injury. O'Neil was defeated in the opening round by Zach Davis, though his efforts netted him a "wild card" pick, where he defeated Javier Torres.

O'Neil went on to win a quarterfinal bout in a rematch with Davis, though he was ousted in the semis by eventual show-winner Tony Ferguson.

Ben persoonlijk geen fan van Grove, maar vind het wel jammer dat hij 'gecut' is.
Er zijn naar mijn mening slechtere vechters in de 185 division...
