Jackson told Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole that he believes his camp has been infiltrated by a rat.

The reason? A fan on Twitter warned Jackson that Jones had a spy in his camp. To test out the theory, "Rampage" told his gym about an "injury" to his hand. Four hours later, UFC matchmaker Joe Silva contacted Jackson's camp to inquire about the injury rumors.

Jackson's manager, Anthony McGann, quelled Silva's fears about another injury messing up his plans. When McGann asked Silva who told him the news, Silva responded that he received a phone call from Malki Kawa, Jon Jones' manager Kawa spoke with Iole and denied the spy accusations:

"I promise to God, I have no spy in that camp," Kawa said. "It's completely and totally untrue. There is nothing to it at all. It's funny he said that, though, because we've heard he has had old training partners of Jon coming in to work with him. We don't care and it's kind of hilarious he's doing this. But I can guarantee you there is nothing at all that is true about this other than that I called Joe Silva after someone put out a thing on Twitter that Rampage was injured and pulling out. I wanted to know what was up, but it was no more than that. That is it."

Aan de andere kant denk ik.. Waarom is er een spy nodig? De gameplan van Rampage is altijd hetzelfde.......

Jon Jones Fires Back at Rampage Jackson Over Spying Accusation

UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/) is hitting back at his next opponent, Rampage Jackson, after Jackson accused Jones of sending a spy into Jackson's training camp.

Addressing Jackson directly via Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/jonnybones), Jones said he would never cheat because he has too much respect for mixed martial arts -- and Jones suggested that makes himself different from Jackson.

"Just so you know, I'm not a person who looks for shortcuts in life. Unlike you, MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) is not something I do because of money," Jones wrote. "It's a way of life for me and I would never disrespect the integrity of that."

Jones saying that Jackson is only in MMA for the money is a reaction to comments Jackson has made in the past about how he would quit MMA for acting if acting paid him better. Jackson briefly retired from MMA when he was given a role in The A-Team, but he returned to the sport when he found that there weren't any more lucrative acting assignments coming his way.

But what Jones is mostly reacting to is a much more recent comment from Jackson, who told Yahoo Sports on Monday that he believes Jones has hired someone to infiltrate Jackson's training camp (http://m.yahoo.com/w/sports/home/experts/article?offset=2&urn=urn%3Anewsml%3Asports.yahoo%2Cyhoo%3A20050301% 3Amma%2Carticle%2Cki-iole_ufc_jackson_jones_spies_082911%3A1&.ts=1314680110&.ysid=VufDvwSgcGrdjqXUEcCDDwX4&.intl=US&.lang=en) to glean information prior to their fight at UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/).

"One of my friends was talking to Jon Jones' manager recently, and Jon Jones' manager was saying that he knows everything that is going on in our camp," Jackson said. "He said he had spies in our camp and he knew everything that was going on. That got me thinking."

Jones' manager Malki Kawa says Jackson's accusations are ridiculous.

"I promise to God, I have no spy in that camp," Kawa told Yahoo. "It's completely and totally untrue. There is nothing to it at all. It's funny he said that, though, because we've heard he has had old training partners of Jon coming in to work with him. We don't care and it's kind of hilarious he's doing this."

For his part, Jones says that now that he's responded to Jackson's accusation, he's not going to give it another thought. And he told Jackson on Twitter that he looks forward to meeting him in the Octagon.

"Believe me or not, I've said my part," Jones said. "Hoping you have a safe and healthy finish to your camp."

Jones and Jackson will fight for the light heavyweight title on Sept. 24.

Rampage Jackson on 'Spygate': Jon Jones Can Watch Me Train, He Still Won't Stop Me

Just days after accusing his future foe's camp of spying on him in his UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/) training sessions, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/quinton/jackson/348/) told MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) Fighting on Thursday that he is unconcerned by the possible presence of a mole, and that he has yet to remove anyone from his camp.

Appearing on The MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) Hour from his camp in Denver, Jackson detailed the circumstances that led him to question if he had a traitor in his midst relaying secrets to UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/)' camp. Jackson said he had a similar feeling in 2010 when he prepared for his bout with Rashad Evans (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/rashad/evans/387/), but had no problems while preparing for recent bouts with Lyoto Machida (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/lyoto/machida/346/) and Matt Hamill (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/matt/hamill/284/).

Jackson said that in recent days, at least one comment made by Jones on Twitter reflected the goings-on in his camp. As a result, Jackson decided to put his team to the test, faking a hand injury at the end of a sparring session.

Within four hours, he says that UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc) matchmaker Joe Silva had called his manager Anthony McGann, to ask about his hand. Jackson said that Silva told him Jones' manager Malki Kawa had raised concern about the hand, saying he had read about it on Twitter.

Jackson, though, says that his team searched Twitter and couldn't find a single mention of a hand injury. In fact, he says they searched the entire web and couldn't find any information about a potential hand injury in this specific camp.

Despite his ongoing belief that someone fed the information to Jones' camp, Jackson has not made any changes to his training team.

"I have a few ideas who the mole is," he said. "There's a bunch of people it can be. I don't want to point fingers. I'm not saying who it was. But whoever it is, I hope they believe in karma."

Jackson said he wasn't accusing of Jones or his camp of intentionally sending a spy into his camp, but that it seemed clear someone was sending them information nonetheless. Jones and Kawa have denied any allegations of wrongdoing, though both declined invitations to appear on The MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) Hour to give their sides of the story.

Given the high-profile nature of the fight, the "Spygate" issue isn't likely to subside anytime soon, even though Jackson seems ready to turn the page, even saying he was "kind of flattered" that such lengths are being taken.

"At the end of the day, I don't care," he said. "I'm very confident in this fight. You guys have no idea. A lot of people have counted me out in this fight, and I love it. I'm happy. It's like when I fought Chuck Liddell (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/chuck/liddell/113/) to get the title. No one counted me in. I'm OK with it. Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/) can set up camp and watch me train, for all I care because he won't be able to stop what I'm going to do to him."

While Jackson's camp is private, he has brought in a group of fighters to help him prepare, and he believes it's possible one of them could have ties to Jones' team. He said when each sparring partner arrives, he asks them not to release any information about the camp in any way, including social media platforms, a requirement he said he feels he has the right to ask since he is paying them.

As for the fight itself, Jackson says all the pressure is on Jones as the new champion to defend his belt and continue his forward momentum while in the spotlight. He also says he won't be frozen by fear of failure, an issue that sometimes gets the best of even the world's top athletes. He also said that even if Jones comes hard at him, he's shown he can stand up to some punishment before returning fire. Whether there's an infiltrator in his camp or it's mole-free, Jackson said on September 24, he'll be ready.

"I don't care about this spy in my camp," he said. "He, she or it can keep watching me, whoever it is. I'm training hard. I'm very confident. It ain't no secret that I'm going to try to throw these hands on Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/). I'm pretty sure one, two, or three of my punches are going to land. I'm going to make them count every time they do. I'm just training my ass off for anything."

Chael Sonnen on Rampage-Jones Spygate: 'This Whole Thing Is Ridiculous'

Chael Sonnen (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/chael/sonnen/296/) may not have a dog in the fight, but he does have an opinion on the "Spygate" flareup that recently ensnared UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc) light-heavyweight No. 1 contender Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and champion Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/).

The opinionated middleweight star believes the situation was mishandled by all parties involved, from fighters to management.

Speaking on Tuesday's edition of The MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) Hour, Sonnen said the whole thing began because of Jackson's victim mentality, calling the "biggest poor-me fighter" out there. While Sonnen acknowledged that it's likely a psychological tactic which allows Jackson to get into the right frame of mind to fight, he also said that he couldn't quite understand it.

"It's silly," he said. "That's why I'm saying this whole thing is ridiculous. Look, I posted my entire training sessions live on the internet at Athletebay.com. The whole world could log in and watch Yushin [Okami (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/yushin/okami/479/)] and I spart. Oscar de la Hoya holds open workout sessions. 'Sugar' Ray Leonard did this, 'Iron' Mike Tyson did this. And then some other guys like to be private. Floyd Mayweather won't let you watch him spar. Randy Couture (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/randy/couture/27/) had an open door policy. 'Come on in.' Dan Henderson's got an open-door policy. It's no big deal.

"But it's a mental thing," he continued. "If Rampage wants to be Mr. Private, and that's how he feels better, then let him. Tito [Ortiz (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/tito/ortiz/234/)] is the same way. Tito doesn't let guys watch him. I don't really get it. What could you possibly learn? A guy's got a couple hands, a couple feet and he's going to use them all in the ring. I don't know. I truly don't know. And if you're opponent wants to worry about you and what you're going to do, then he's not thinking about himself and what what he's going to do, and that's what really matters. So the whole thing was silly, but it was a major opportunity ... and the Jones camp ruined it."

That last assertion stems from Sonnen's belief that Jones and his management lost not one, but two great opportunities that could have resulted from Rampage's belief that a mole had infiltrated his camp. First, he lost the chance to get and stay inside Rampage's head.

"As I understood it, Rampage actually canceled a workout over this whole thing," he said. "He puts out, 'Oh man, my hand's hurt.' This was his way of pulling the mole out. 'Oh, my hand's hurt, I can't work out.' He actually skips the workout to see if that information gets back. It does come back to him. If you're Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/), why would you not keep that going? Why would you possibly stop that?

Secondly, even if it wasn't true that Jones had a spy, the denial doused water on the story's sizzle. Jones' manager Malki Kawa originally denied the accusation by saying, "I promise to God, I have no spy in the camp."

Later, he said Jackson was simply trying to "hype the fight" with the claims. In Sonnen's mind, the extra attention that would have resulted from any prolonged back-and-forth would have meant more eyeballs on the fight, and more dollars. Instead, the dispute was extinguished.

"Look Malki, if you're at all a trustable guy, you don't need to swear on God," Sonnen said. "Just tell him it didn't happen. Unless you have an extremely guilty conscience, and an extremely poor track record, all you need to say is your piece. You don't need to bring God into it, and all these other things.

"And then he breaks the cardinal rule and says Rampage is just hyping a fight," he continued. "Well, gee Malki, if he is, and you're part of that fight, why would you stop him? You stupid son of a ... I would have fired him for using the word 'hype.' Jon Jones needs to silence that guy and keep him out of the media. He does not have the rhetorical skills or PR training to speak on this level."

Jones-Jackson goes down on September 24 as the UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/) main event from the Pepsi Center in Denver.
