Gisteren een leuke boxwedstrijd zitten bekijken. In de zaal waren onder andere Jerome le Banner en Peter Aerts.

WBA bantamweight champion Koki Kameda successfully defended the title for the second time in a unanimous decision over Mexican challenger David De La Mora on Wednesday.

Kameda retained his title by unanimous decision. KYODO Kameda sent De La Mora to the canvas with a left counter punch in the third round and continued to wrack up points afterward in the 12-rounder at Nippon Budokan.
The 24-year-old Kameda improved to a 26-1 record, including 16 knockouts. De La Mora, 23, appearing in his first world title bout, slipped to 23-1 (16 KOs).
"De La Mora is a young and talented fighter. It was a good fight," said Kameda. "I have to train harder. I will just do my best in each match."
Earlier, challenger Tomonobu Shimizu won a split decision over champion Hugo Cazares to claim the WBA super flyweight crown in his third crack at a world title.
The 30-year-old Shimizu improved to a 19-3 record, including nine knockouts, with one draw. Cazares, who was making his fifth title defense, slipped to a 35-7-2 record (25 KOs).
Shimizu circled around Cazares, hitting the Mexican champion with a stinging left jab while throwing blows to the body. The Japanese fighter controlled most of the bout, except for the middle rounds where Cazares forced him back in a slugfest.
"I feel like I have finally realized my dream now that I have the belt wrapped around my waist," said Shimizu. "Usually I would have been in trouble when Cazares came at me like he did during the match, but my training paid off," he said.
