Ik denk dat Rashad een kans hent tegen Jones.
Wat een arrogante eikel die Jones zeg. Die maniertjes van hem brrrr.
Dit was altijd de meest aantrekkelijke divisie voor mij maar dat houd voorlopig wel op.

Rogan zei het al, met die lowkicks leek hij wel succes te hebben maar ze bleven verder achterwege.
Velen hebben het over arrogantie van Jones, maar ik heb gewoon weer genoten van zijn prestatie. De terechte LHW champ.
Even iets over een ander gevecht: Wat zijn de TD en het groundwork van Mark Hunt vooruit gegaan zeg! Toen hij werd gemount dacht ik echt dat het over was. Maar goede escapes, overnames, een mooie taledown in ronde 2, mount, serieuze poging armbar en een behoorlijk GnP. Staande was hij heer en meester over Rothwell. Kan er van genieten als een veteraan zich nog zo weet te ontwikkelen!

Maar goede escapes, overnames, een mooie taledown in ronde 2, mount, serieuze poging armbar en een behoorlijk GnP. Staande was hij heer en meester over Rothwell. Kan er van genieten als een veteraan zich nog zo weet te ontwikkelen!

Ik heb anders niet gezien dat hij zijn belt terugwilde. Rampage heeft gewoon een te grote mond voor wat hij laat zien de laatste jaren.
En mijn mening over JJ is nog steeds hetzelfde. Hij is goed, maar zijn stand up is overschat, hij moet het gewoon van zijn reach hebben. Een hoop draaiende ellebogen en trappen naar de knie, maar hij zet al snel de sprint.

Hele leuke gevechten.
Nate Diaz die weer zijn geweldige boks skills en bjj skills liet zien tegen Gomi, echt een mooie performance van Diaz.
Ik ben zeer blij voor Mark Hunt die z'n partij won , liet hele goede takedown defence en grappling zien kudos.
Matt Hughes deed het niet slecht tegen Koscheck totdat hij in de laatste minuut tegen een dikke stoot aanliep, jammer voor Hughes maar leuke tko voor Koscheck.
F*ck Jones wat is die gozer arrogant zeg damn ik heb een hekel aan hem lol ik hoop echt dat Evans hem helemaal sloopt dat hoop ik echt :P .
De partij van Diaz & Hunt vondt ik het leukst van de avond.

Een beetje een Big Nog moment idd. Prachtig, Rothwell is erg goed in LNP en Hunt kon steeds ontsnappen. Echt een baas. Rothwell was helemaal kapot.
Mixfight was weer kwaliteit vannacht, wat een topservers! Kudos!

UFC 135: Mark Hunt Beats Ben Rothwell
In a sloppy, messy heavyweight brawl, Mark Hunt (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/mark/hunt/735/) won his second consecutive UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc) fight by taking a unanimous decision over Ben Rothwell (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/ben/rothwell/969/) at UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/).
When Hunt signed with the UFC last year, most people thought it was ridiculous: Hunt was old, out of shape, past his prime and sporting a losing record in his MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) career. But after losing his first UFC fight in 2010, Hunt has now won twice in 2011. His victory over Rothwell, which was dominant if not pretty, was scored 30-27, 29-27 and 29-28 by the three judges.
Hunt, who was a successful kickboxer for many years, has a well-earned reputation in MMA circles as a threat to knock anyone out standing up but a total fish out of water on the ground. So it was no surprise that Rothwell repeatedly went for takedowns, and after a couple minutes of the first round he succeeded and got on top of Hunt, in full mount. The surprise was that Hunt actually managed to get free and get back to his feet, and for the rest of the round was quite competitive with Rothwell, hurting him with strikes and opening a cut over his right eye.
In the second round Hunt surprised Rothwell with a trip-takedown and got on top and battered away at him, absolutely controlling him on the ground. And in an absolute shock at the end of the second round, Hunt actually attempted an arm bar. It was a shocking display for fans who have seen Hunt through the years and never seen him do much of anything on the ground.
By the third round Rothwell had been so badly battered and was so tired that he looked like a zombie in the cage. "I don't think I've ever seen a guy this tired in the Octagon before," UFC announcer Joe Rogan said of Rothwell in the third. Hunt didn't have much energy, either, but he had more than Rothwell, and as the fight ended it was Hunt who was in control.
Hunt now has a career MMA record of 7-7. Rothwell drops to 31-8.
Dana White 'Proud' That Mark Hunt Turned Down Payoff to Fight in UFC
DENVER -- Mark Hunt (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/mark/hunt/735/) is one of the few fighters in the UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc) who didn't actually have to fight in order to get paid.
Because of the peculiarities involved in Zuffa's purchase of Japan's Pride Fighting Championships organization back in 2007, he could have stayed home and still collected a check, according to UFC president Dana White.
"When we bought Pride, he came as part of the Pride deal," White said at Saturday night's UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/) post-fight press conference. "It was back and forth and basically I was just like...we'll just pay you off. We know you're in the Pride deal. And Mark Hunt said 'No, I want to come. I want to fight.'"
At UFC 135 Hunt won his second straight UFC bout, defeating Ben Rothwell (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/ben/rothwell/969/) via unanimous decision after a grueling three-round battle that saw Hunt batter Rothwell with strikes while also acquitting himself well in the ground game. It's a long way from where most people thought he'd be after his rocky start in the UFC, not that Hunt is eager to discuss how he ended up here.
"It's been a long journey just to get here," said the New Zealander. "I'm still...plugging away at it. It's been hard."
It was especially hard after he injured his arm in a submission loss to Sean McCorkle (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/sean/mccorkle/1579/) in his UFC debut. That dropped the kickboxer's MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) record to 5-7, and his future prospects looked grim.
But Hunt bounced back in February with a stunning walk-off knockout of Chris Tuscherer at UFC 127 in Australia, then followed it up with this clear-cut win over a very game Rothwell, who took every power shot Hunt could think of over the course of their 15-minute scrap.
"It was a really hard fight," said Hunt. "Ben Rothwell, he's really tough. I threw a lot of heavy shots at him, real hard shots, but he was still there."
But according to White, what's really impressive is how Hunt has managed to carve out a place for himself in the UFC rather than simply taking the easy money when it was offered to him. Even after White had offered to "pay [Hunt] to stay home," he said, the heavyweight insisted on having his day in the cage.
"Let me tell you what, man, he did it," White said. "The guy's got a ton of heart and I have a lot of respect for him."
Hunt, who's never been known as one of the sport's most verbose fighters, said he didn't "feel like talking about" his decision to turn down the UFC's offer to pay him off, even appearing slightly embarrassed when White brought it up.
But White said he specifically requested that Hunt come to the post-fight press conference because he wanted to highlight the situation and let everyone know how impressed he is with the former K-1 kickboxer.
"I'm glad that he opted to come here and fight and I'm proud that he fought in the UFC," said White. "I asked him to come here tonight. If he won't say it, I will."
Nate Diaz Submits Takanori Gomi
In a 2007 Pride fight, Nick Diaz (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/nick/diaz/506/) established himself as one of the rising stars in mixed martial arts by beating the great lightweight champion Takanori Gomi (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/takanori/gomi/721/). On Saturday night in Denver, it was Nick's little brother Nate Diaz (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/nate/diaz/538/) who put on a great performance against Gomi, winning a first-round submission at UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/).
The Gomi of today isn't the same fighter as the Gomi of 2007, and so Nate Diaz's victory on Saturday isn't as significant as Nick Diaz's victory of the Pride days. But Nate Diaz looked as good as he's ever looked on Saturday night, battering Gomi in the stand up for most of the first round before eventually getting him to the ground, sinking in a triangle choke from his back and then transitioning to an arm bar that made Gomi tap.
"I'm happy to get the win," Diaz said afterward. "He's dangerous. Takanori Gomi was a Pride champion for years and years -- he was one of my favorite fighters forever, and still is."
The victory improved Diaz's record to 14-7, and he showed after struggling in his last couple of fights at welterweight that he's a real force at lightweight.
As for Gomi, he was a legend of the Pride days, but he doesn't have a whole lot left. Gomi is 32-8 in his MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) career, but he's just 1-3 since signing with the UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc). His best days are behind him, while Diaz's best days are ahead of him.

Josh Koscheck Knocks Out Matt Hughes
At the end of a good first round of fighting, Josh Koscheck (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/josh/koscheck/330/) finished Matt Hughes (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/matt/hughes/187/) with several big punches on the ground -- ending not just the co-main event at UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/), but possibly the career of Hughes, one of the UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc)'s greatest fighters.
Hughes was a heavy underdog heading into the fight with the younger Koscheck, but he came in poised and looking good in the early going, landing some punches that appeared to have Koscheck hurt. But Koscheck eventually settled down, began to hurt Hughes with punches, and finished him off on the ground at 4 minutes, 59 seconds of the first round.
"I just want to say thanks to Matt Hughes for taking this fight late in his career," Koscheck said afterward. "He's a legend and I'm really proud that I had the opportunity to fight a legend like Matt Hughes."
The win improved Koscheck's career record to 16-5, but afterward everyone wanted to know whether Hughes was ready to call it quits. When Hughes took the microphone at the end, he got a loud cheer and said he wasn't ready to announce his retirement, but that he also wasn't sure what was next for him.
"I'm not retiring," Hughes said. "I'm going to tell the UFC to put me up on a shelf and we'll see what happens after that."
Hughes, the all-time UFC record holder for most wins inside the Octagon with 18, embraced Koscheck after what had been 4 minutes and 59 seconds of good action inside the Octagon. If this was his last UFC fight he didn't go out a winner, but he did go out a warrior.

Jon Jones Submits Rampage Jackson
Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/) said leading up to UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/) that he wanted to be the first man to finish Rampage Jackson in the UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc). Jones accomplished that goal, forcing Jackson to tap out in the fourth round of an outstanding light heavyweight title fight, and demonstrating once again that he's one of the best and most exciting fighters in MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/).
"The game plan was to prove I can strike with Quinton Jackson (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/quinton/jackson/348/)," Jones said afterward. "I think we did that."
It was the striking that gave Jones the advantage for most of the fight, but he ended the fight with a submission, sinking in a rear-naked choke in the fourth round. Throughout the fight Jones was on a completely different level than Jackson. There was no question who the better fighter was.
"He's great," Jackson said afterward. "I thought it was hype. The kid is good. I take my hat off to him."
Jones, who has always had an unusual fighting style, came toward Jackson at the start of the fight in a low stance, almost like a lineman in football, and attempted to go for a takedown. Jones wasn't able to get Jackson down, but he was able to grab him and control him in the clinch against the fence.
Once they broke free of their clinch, Jones was working on using his significant reach advantage to stay out of harm's way and land kicks from the outside. Jones landed several kicks that Jackson had no answer for, and he also landed an impressive spinning elbow. At the end of the round Jones threw a dynamic spinning kick that could have given him a highlight reel knockout, but Jackson ducked under it and survived the round.
In the second round Jackson began to look more tentative about Jones' attack, backing away instead of going to the inside. Jackson also seemed to be affected by Jones' leg kicks, which were hammering away at Jackson's lead leg. At the end of the second round Jones jumped guard and attempted a triangle choke, although there wasn't enough time to get close to a submission.
A minute into the third round Jones went for a takedown and got it easily, immediately falling into side control and then transitioning into full mount. Jones landed a couple of hard elbows, cutting Jackson, although Jackson showed off a nice hip escape and got back to his feet. From there they exchanged strikes for the rest of the round, with Jones getting the better of the exchanges. At the very end of the third round Jones went low for a takedown, and when the horn sounded Jones threw Jackson off him, which seemed to anger Jackson.
Early in the fourth round Jones took Jackson down against the cage and got on top of him, then transitioned to his back beautifully, sunk in a rear-naked choke, and tightened it until Jackson submitted. As Jackson tapped, Jones calmly got up, then briefly celebrated at the center of the Octagon. After Jackson had a moment to recover, he walked over and hugged Jones, knowing he had just been beaten by a better fighter.
Jackson has nothing to be ashamed of. There may be no man alive who can beat Jones. He's a remarkable champion.

Jackson was a game opponent who didn't back down from Jones' constant attacks, and that made it an entertaining fight, even though it wasn't a particularly competitive fight, as Jones dominated throughout.

Koscheck got the Knockout of the Night award for stopping Matt Hughes with one second left in the first round. It's the second Knockout of the Night award for Koscheck, who has also won a Fight of the Night and a Submission of the Night bonus previously in his career.

heerlijk Jones is toch een nieuwe era, iedereen kan natuurlijk van iedereen winnen maar Jones heeft in deze gewichtsklasse wel heel veel overwicht. Op naar de HW in 5/6 jaar.

toen na het gevecht van jones tegen rua zei rampage dat jones geflatteerd van "old" en "rusty" rua heeft weten te winnen

vond het wel leuk hunt te zien winnen van rothwell,had niet verwacht dat hij nog zo ver zou komen in de ufc,een tweede win voor hunt!

Alsof je mijn gedachten leest! Ben zelf altijd al een liefhebber van Hunt geweest. Tevens zag hij er afgetraind uit. Nooit eerder zag je volgens mij bij hem de contouren van buikspieren zitten. Zal er mee te maken hebben, dat hij vroeger niet het gewichtsmaximum had van 265 lbs. Maar die technische vooruitgang verraad ook gedisciplineerde training. Dat ook hij op een gegeven moment bijna geen lucht meer had is eigenlijk wel normaal met heavyweights, aangezien ze zo goed als altijd dezelfde longinhoud hebben als lichtergebouwden en toch die massa meedragen. En het gevecht was op hoogte in Denver.

ik vond rampage's performance zwaaaaaaaaar teleurstellend. ik snap best dat tegen jones vechten niet makkelijk is maar kom op man... op een gegeven moment stond hij daar zowat zonder iets te doen... als het ware wachten totdat jones iets deed.. en daarna niet eens counteren.
Overigens raakte Rampage in de eerste ronde Jones best hard en zag je hem duidelijk schrikken en zijn gezichtsuitdrukking sterk vertrekken. Maar inderdaad duidelijk een maat te groot voor Jackson.

UFC 135 Rakes in $2,089,575 in Ticket Sales
This past Saturday's UFC 135 (http://www.mmafighting.com/tag/UFC+135/) event from the Pepsi Center in Denver drew a total crowd of 16,344 for a final gate of $2,089,575, the Colorado athletic commission revealed Tuesday.
Of the 16,344 in attendance, 14,247 paid for tickets and 2,097 were comped.

-- When it comes to fighter salaries, the commission says it only verifies that fighters are paid by promoters and fighter salaries are not disclosed.
-- Tony Ferguson (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/tony/ferguson/1815/) was awarded the victory over Aaron Riley (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/aaron/riley/431/) after it became apparent Riley had suffered an injury to his jaw. Riley has since been issued a 180-day suspension which can be reduced to 90 days with medical clearance.
--Despite a dominant win in the main event, Jon Jones (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/jon/jones/549/) was handed a 180-day suspension or 45 days with medical clearance. Meanwhile, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was suspended for 60 days with no contact for 45 days.
-- The only other fighter recommended for a further check-up was Jame Te Huna, whom the commission suspended 180 days or minimum 30 days with medical clearance.
