In a major deal to solidify the MMA scene around Asia, One FC has entered into a partnership with Dream, that will see the promotions work together and co-promote shows starting in the near future.
Sources close to One FC confirmed the new partnership with MMAWeekly.com (http://www.mmaweekly.com/) on late Wednesday night after initial reports from MMA-Japan.com (http://www.mma-japan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1037:dream-and-onefc-partner-up-plus-other-huge-news&catid=50:onefc&Itemid=94) earlier this week.

Dream officials are expected to make a formal announcement about the deal in the coming days.

One FC has now entered into partnerships with most of the major promotions in and around Asia to create the One FC Network.

The new partnerships will help to promote and create solidarity among the promotions, along with talent sharing and development deals with several gyms in the area as well.

Dream has been under financial constraints for the past several months, but now forging ahead with One FC will most likely give them some stability, and even growth over the next several months.

The new One FC Network is expected to produce close to 50 shows in 2012, with Dream being one of the biggest partners to enter into the deal.

Dream’s next major event will be held on New Year’s Even in Japan, and will air on HDNet in the United States. The headline fight will likely feature lightweight star Shinya Aoki in the main event.

Aoki now trains out of Evolve MMA in Singapore, one of the many gyms already under the umbrella of the One FC Network.

The two promotions will likely kick off their partnership in 2012, but with the New Year’s Eve card still filling up it’s possible something could happen for that show as well.

MMAWeekly.com (http://www.mmaweekly.com/) will have more information on this deal as it becomes available.

DREAM, ONE FC Announce Deal to Co-Promote Events, Exchange Talent

On the same day when the UFC (http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc) officially announced its return to the Asian market with a press conference in Japan (http://www.mmafighting.com/japan/), two of the area's biggest promotions announced that they would team up to increase their visibility and bolster their star power.

DREAM and ONE Fighting Championship have declared an intention to co-promote events and exchange fighters between them, the heads of both promotions announced on Monday.

The change is effective immediately. In a press release, the sides said fighter exchanges are expected to happen quickly, and that a joint promotional effort has been tentatively scheduled for March 31 at Singapore Stadium with the name "ONE FC/DREAM in Singapore."

"DREAM and ONE Fighting Championship will work together to lead the sport of MMA (http://www.mmafighting.com/) in Asia to a better future," DREAM event producer Keiichi Sasahara said in a release. "DREAM has some of the best fighters in the world and we also have deep experience of putting on world-class events. ONE Fighting Championship has the largest media platform in Asia and many other assets. I see many great synergies with this partnership. It is certainly a new era for everyone in Asian MMA."

Of the two promotions, DREAM has the longer history, producing over 20 events in its 3+ years of existence. It also has the deeper roster, with highly regarded veterans including Shinya Aoki (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/shinya/aoki/676/), Gegard Mousasi (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/gegard/mousasi/786/), Katsunori Kikuno (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/katsunori/kikuno/941/) and Gerald Harris (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/gerald/harris/389/). ONE FC has only been in business since early 2011 and produced just one fight card with other scheduled into early 2012. Thus far, however, ONE FC has swiftly penetrated the Asian market, reportedly signing deals that make its future shows available in 500 million households across Asia

Ok. Vet. Goed dat ze het weer in Singapore houden. Lekkere tijd voor als je het in NL kijkt.
