Dit stond op het Sherdog Forum. Ik weet niet hoe betrouwbaar alle informatie is, maar het is wel een erg interessant stuk met een hoop info die ik nog niet wist.

Who is going to run the new K-1 2012, battle behind the scenes?

On the Japanese forums there are many rumors that there will be a big announcement soon regarding the new owner of K-1.

Some very interesting conversations are published on the Japanese forums.

When FEG made the announcement for the last 16 in China in November there were many speculations. FEG and FIKA Press conference.
Lets get the facts straight:

The announcement made by FEG had only its showtime fighters except Errol Zimmerman from Golden Glory.
Mr Tanigawa traveled with a Korean investor Mr. Kim to Holland and visited Its showtime office and made a deal with Simon Rutz and He would become the producer of K-1 events in the future and was promised a lot of money. Simon dropped half of the money of the outstanding for his fighters as long as he could be the matchmaker and be member of the new k-1 management together with the old CEO Mr Tanigawa.

The "poor" Korean investor Mr Kim does not know the history of the Showtime producers and K-1 or from Mr Tanigawa and thinks he has the perfect "new" management team.

Golden Glory is in a difficult position as star fighter Alistair Overeem signs an exclusive contract with the UFC and breaks up with the team, possible one of the main reasons being the outstanding money owed to him from the K-1 GP win in 2010. Golden Glory had 6 fighters at the GP in 2010 and therefore was owed the most amount of money from FEG , so why use any of their fighters? Golden Glory management advanced part of the money that was owed to their fighters to keep the peace and keep fighters focused.
However there are many fighters that have not been paid what is owed to them and unfortunately they do not have the luxury of their management advancing a portion of the FEG debt to them out of their own pockets. For instance - Petrosyan is not happy at all with his management (It's Showtime) and wants his money from his last K-1 GP Max win.

He was promised a certain amount of fights annually that did not happen, with the Cancellation of the Amsterdam Arena event and the situation with K-1 - Tension is running high now and as the event in China was also "postponed" it wouldn't be a big surprise if we hear about Petrosyan parting and going his own way.

The reason the event was "postponed" according to FEG and Simon Rutz is that they could not make visa's in time for China.

But not long after this announcement we saw Bas Boon, Semmy Schilt and Mr Isshi in China at a press conference under the name Seven Stars Global - and FIKA. A totally different organization which has nothing to do with the Korean investor Mr Kim or FEG.
Then on Bas Boon's Facebook we can see Simon Rutz's comment on photos from the FIKA press Conference - He was Super angry and emotional. Simon Rutz says he is going to start a lawsuit it is one big circus in Japan, enough is enough.

There are also the stories that Bas Boon is busy with some big investors. None of the Golden Glory fighters were originally booked for the last 16 card in Japan we can assume that there is bad blood between Golden Glory and Showtime/FEG.
So when Bas Boon would get involved we would see less fighters of Simon Rutz and we already witnessed that if Simon would be involved 90% would be its showtime fighters participating in the K-1 GP.

In Holland there is a lot of negative movement, Simon has had major problems with the law in the past and very close connections with the Hells Angels, A major crime syndicate. He has not produced any Fight events in the Amsterdam Arena. Previously he organized an event every year in the Amsterdam Arena and had 20.000 spectators - Major loss there. In Holland there is a new law called the Bibop law which gives the government the authorization to stop any live event, if they think there are connections with criminals or they suspect trouble. . This law has been Strongly enforced with all Showtime and other events in The Netherlands.

More interesting news is that Badr Hari still has a felony conviction hanging above his head and then suddenly stops his fighting career in Holland he announced he would only fight three more times. The first two did not take place ( last 16 in China and final 8 in Japan ). The third fight of Badr would be a fight against Saki on January 28th 2012 in Leeuwarden. This is on the other side of Holland and maybe Simon thinks there is a place he would not be followed by the Bibop law. The truth is that Simon and Badr Hari still have connections with the Hells Angels and that Gokhan Saki has a lot of fans with a group called Satudarah - a hardcore motorbike gang in Holland. Both hells Angels and Saturdarah have made headlines in the news in Holland as they hate each others guts and with the Badr vs Saki fight coming up in Leeuwarden. Holland, it could very well be another canceled event under the Bibop Law.

Simon is also announcing that he will do another big show in June with Gokhan Saki who is supposed to fight Ghita or Hesdy and also Zimmerman would be on the card. However at Team Golden Glory they said they never agreed to any of those fights in June and its simply not true.

Another rumor in the Dutch press is that top referee Joop Ubeda for showtime recently quit because he was was told by Simon Rutz he would be replaced by a Japanese referee for the Badr vs Saki fight, the reason according to insiders is that this change of referee's is because Simon promised Mr Kim and Tanigawa to exchange judges and referee's for their future events.

The only problem in the way of Simon Rutz, Mr. Kim and Tanigawa is Golden Glory.
The new Its Showtime 2010 max champion of 70kg who is only 21 years old is Golden Glory fighter Robin Van Roosmalen
The 4 time K-1 champion Semmy Schilt is very loyal to Golden Glory
Golden Glory fighters Gokhan Saki, Errol Zimmerman and Kharitonov are all big international names especially in Japan
Then there is a whole bunch of new young talented fighters at Golden Glory and head manager Bas Boon
- who is apparently busy with his own investors to get a new management team for K-1.

If the Showtime event in January 2012 is cancelled it will be the end of its showtime, even if it will take place with Badr Hari going to the US and Tyrone Spong already being in the US, the two biggest assets of Simon Ruts are gone, with a Bibop special police team watching his promotions in Holland.
With Petrosyan totally unsatisfied and still not paid a cent it would not surprise me if he leaves its showtime soon.

All this is not a bright future for Its Showtime and if the Korean investor Mr Kim would know the truth, its very doubtful he would invest $1.- in the K-1 rights.
If only he knew.. Also the truth about how Tanigawa and his management team completely destroyed K-1. It is clear It's not exactly the best business team. Tanigawa, Simon Riutz and Mr Kim the Korean investor who as it seems is being completely manipulated.

In other words if Badr Hari and Spong are in the US and Petrosyan would no longer be with Simon Rutz and not having exclusive contracts with any of the Golden Glory fighters, there is simply not a lot of good fights left to promote for Its Showtime. It is for this exact reason Simon is trying relentlessly to get a big card for June 2012 to show to Japan and the Korean investor that he is still has control over the kickboxing scene in Europe, the truth is that its showtime does not have a lot of fighters left and the future does not look bright at all. Even if Mr Taniagwa and Mr Kim would obtain the rights of K-1, it would be simply a postponed execution.

Another question is who is Mr Kim? We do know that the former pride Yakuza boss was a korean guy named Mr Kim... interesting! ( there are of course many Koreans with the name Mr Kim - but you never know). We also know that this Mr Kim had to leave Japan as the Japanese police were looking for him. Pride did great ratings on Fuji tv, but Fuji TV ended up canceling their involvement with pride because of their extreme criminal involvement. Then the police went to the Fuji building and interrogated Fuji TV staff - asking why they were involved with major criminals/ why they had involvement with Yakuza/Pride. More interesting is that Mr Tanaigawa is working more and more with Dream - the old group who use to run Pride. What kind of investor in their right mind would work with these kinds of people?

The first month of 2012 we will know, I really hope there will be a new k-1 with capable people running a clean company, K-1 has huge potential and with the right people it will be the biggest stand up fighting show on the planet.
