Afgelopen zaterdag was ik te gast bij Combat Sports Academy (CSA) te Helmond. CSA is het domein van de altijd sympathieke Marco van Broek. Marco kennen we o.a. als coach/trainer van Amir Sadollah en Michael Kuiper, beide vechters in de UFC.

Ik had Marco al langer beloofd eens langs te komen in zijn nieuwe, nog te openen, gym in Helmond. In eerste instantie had ik gepland om een echte Mixfight on Tour te doen. Hier wacht ik echter nog even mee tot de gym helemaal af is. Deze houden jullie dus te goed van me.

Toch kon ik het niet laten om in te gaan op Marco’s verzoek om langs te komen. Deze zaterdag stond er namelijk een toffe training/sparring sessie gepland met vechters als Amir Sadollah, Michael Kuiper, Andy Souwer, Robin van Roosmalen, Melvin Wassing en Dmitri Ivanov. Daarnaast was Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig een paar weekjes te gast ter voorbereiding op zijn gevecht tegen Che Mills (UFC 151) op 29 september. In eerste instantie moest ik wegens mijn te volle agenda cancelen… Maar het bloed kruipt waar het niet kruipen kan, en zo reed ik zaterdagochtend dan toch richting Helmond.

Toen de sessie net goed en wel gestart was zag ik tot mijn grote verbazing dat forumbroeder en fotograaf Jos Erken (Cobra) ook even kwam buurten. Perfect! Zo kon Jos voor mooie foto’s zorgen en had ik mijn handen vrij om her en der wat video’s te schieten.

Zoals ik reeds zei, dit is niet het Mixfight on Tour verslag. Ik houd het daarom kort en laat jullie genieten van de mooie foto’s die Jos Erkens geschoten heeft en van de video die ik (poging tot) gemonteerd heb. Ik kan jullie in ieder geval vermelden dat de sfeer er goed in zat daar in Helmond. Marco, bedankt voor je gastvrijheid en tot snel weer!

Top gym! Zullen nog vele toppers vandaan gaan komen en naartoe gaan! Ken geen enkele gym die zo professioneel bezig is als deze.

Maar was wel leuk om weer eens te video editen.

Denk dat deze kwalitatief niet echt zo gek veel voor elkaar onderdoen. Twins/Booster is al zeer lang actief in de Benelux en ik denk dat de nieuwe Pro range van Booster erg veelbelovend is.

Met de zwarte hoofdkap is TUF 7 winnaar en UFC vechter Amir Sadollah. Met de oranje kap is voormalig K-1 max en huidig UFC vechter Duane Ludwig. Ze zijn beide bij CSA Holland om zich voor te bereiden op hun aankomende UFC partij in Nottingham.

Als je had gezegd dat dit een professionele Amerikaanse MMA gym was geweest had ik het ook geloofd. Het ziet er echt superstrak uit! Van Roosmalen vs Souwer sparring had ik wel willen zien (gegarandeerd vuurwerk). High quality top fighters

Volgens mij heb ik geen beelden van souwer vs roosmalen... maar ik zal de videos nog eens nachecken. Mocht het er toch bij zitten, dan upload ik ze alsnog voor je.
