Battle of the Kempen II (Beek en Donk)

Zondag 28 Oktober 2012 was het zover de tweede editie van Battle of the Kempen in Beek en Donk.
Ik was door promotor Riny Heesakkers uitgenodigd om een fotoverslag te verzorgen van dit gala. Bij aankomst was er al behoorlijk druk met vechters voor de weging en medical check . Er stonden 33 partijen waaronder 4 A partijen en 2 B-partijen op het programma waarbij er afwisseling was tussen kickbokspartijen en bokspartijen. Tevens was er 1 Pro MMA dames partij nl. Megan Van Houtum vs Hatice Ozyurt. Het was de eerste pro-mma partij voor Megan welke deze binnen 30 seconden wist te winnen op een arm bar.
Het gehele programma verliep strak dankzij de WFCA. Het was een geslaagd gala met mooie partijen.Het gala eindigde om 9 uur.

Langs deze weg wil ik Riny bedanken voor de gastvrijheid en zou zeggen op naar de 3de editie.

Ja inderdaad moeilijke omstandigheden zo te zien. Ondanks dat barre, barre platen. Deze is voor mij een van de beste, zo niet DE beste, die ik het afgelopen jaar gezien heb. Zit alles in besloten. Wat gaat er gebeuren met deze superman punch ? Staat strak als een springveer en de tegenstander duikt al in de dekking. In deze plaat zit naar mijn mening zo veel.

Deze jonge vechter heeft verloren. Hij heeft na 2 nieuwelingen partijen een c partij in een voorgaand gala aangenomen omdat hij anders geen partij zou hebben. Helaas moest hij vanaf dat moment c-partijen draaien welke gezien ervaring nog wat te vroeg was. Maar moet zeggen dat ik overtuigd ben dat hij er zeker zal komen. Hij vocht deze partij zeker niet als de underdog.
