Afgelopen zondag was het dan eindelijk zover; Mixfight Dag 2012. Deze dag stond volledig in het teken van vechtsport voor- en door leden van Mixfight.

Na een periode van heen en weer gebel en geregel is het de heren van Mixfight dan ook gelukt om een prachtig programma op te zetten. Hiervoor ten eerste speciale dank voor Harmen (Richelieu) die het meeste regelwerk op zich genomen had.

Laten we eens beginnen met de locatie. De Mixfight Dag vond dit jaar plaats in het zuiden des lands. Om meer specifiek te zijn: Combat Sport Academy Holland. Deze prachtige en nieuwe gym is gelegen in het oude postkantoor van Helmond. Niemand minder dan Marco van den Broek runt deze gym met passie en overgave. Marco kennen we als mede-eigenaar van Calmaro Gym en tevens als coach/trainer van o.a. Michael Kuiper en Amir Sadollah. Hij was dan ook zeer enthousiast en meer dan gewillig om Mixfight te voorzien van een gedegen locatie. De inrichting van de gym was prachtig om te zien. Dank hiervoor aan Yves van Booster die deze inrichting verzorgd heeft. Tijdens deze Mixfight Dag was ook Boris van El Bastardo aanwezig met een mooie stand. Boris ook jij bedankt voor je aanwezigheid.

Het was prachtig om te zien dan meer dan 50 vechtsportliefhebbers zich hadden ingeschreven voor deze dag vol seminars. Dit was dan ook niet gek als we even een kijkje nemen naar het programma: Kickboksen, Muay Thai, MMA en BJJ/Judo.

De dag begon omstreeks een uur of 13.00 toen de eerste mensen begonnen binnen te lopen. De sfeer zat er al direct prima in en rond de klok van twee begon dan ook het eerste seminar: Kickboksen onder leiding van K1 Max topper en veteraan Andy Souwer.
Na een lekkere warming up kon iedereen van start gaan met de technieken die Andy de vechters voorschotelde. Jongens, meiden en kinderen, iedereen genoot ervan. Ook mooi om te zien dat veel mensen gewoon voor de gezelligheid langskwamen om naast de mat te kunnen kijken. Na de eerste seminar was het tijd voor een leuke groepsfoto waarna Ronald van Mixfight vechters op de foto zette met hun held, Andy Souwer.

Toen was het tijd voor de volgende seminar: Muay Thai onder leiding van Marco Piqué. Ook hier wederom een meer dan enthousiaste groep vechters. De zaal zat bomvol en de combinaties vlogen hier dan ook letterlijk om de oren. Heel gaaf om te zien. Ook hier was er na de seminar meer dan voldoende gelegenheid voor een mooie groepsfoto en vervolgens individuele foto’s van Marco Pique en de seminar deelnemers.

De volgende seminar werd verzorgd door niemand minder dan Stefan ‘ Skyscaper’ Struve. Struve mag zich inmiddels al bijna een heuse UFC veteraan noemen met meer dan 10 gevechten in deze organisatie. Stefan nam voor de start van de seminar nog even de tijd om aandacht te schenken aan Kika (fonds voor kinderen met kanker). Stefan is namelijk bezig met geld in te zamelen voor Sofie Ligthart uit Heemskerk. Zij heeft Neuroblastoom. Deze ernstige vorm van kanker treft jaarlijks 25 kinderen in Nederland en Sofie is er daar één van. Jaarlijks overleven 5 kinderen de diagnose neuroblastoom. Sofie gaat 1 van deze 5 worden en om dat te realiseren moet zij naar Amerika waar door een speciale behandeling de overlevingskansen aanzienlijk stijgen voor kinderen als Sofie. De seminar van Stefan Struve was ook wederom gaaf om te zien. De focus lag hierbij vooral op submissions binnen het MMA. Denk hierbij o.a aan de Twister techniek. Ook hier was na afloop een leuke fotosessie.

Inmiddels was het alweer een uur of zes ‘s avonds en waren veel vechters helemaal stuk van alle trainingen. Toch waren er nog een mooie groep over die de energie had voor de allerlaatste seminar. Deze stond volledig in het teken van het betere grond- en grappling werk. Duane van Helvoirt, Roy Remeijsen, Islam Galajev en Michael Kuiper namen deze taak op zich. Erg mooie technieken en submissions passeerden de revu. Ook hier wederom een leuke groepsfoto na afloop.

Al met al mogen we met zijn allen blij en trots zijn op deze supermooie Mixfight Dag.

Ik wil dan ook oprecht IEDEREEN bedanken voor hun aanwezigheid en inzet. Daarnaast speciale dank voor Harmen voor de organisatie en Marco voor het beschikbaar stellen van de locatie. Uiteraard big thumbs up voor alle vechters die de seminars verzorgd hebben. TOP!!!
