Van Damme was indeed in Somlucks corner and went in with in after round 1 but stayed outside the ropes and talked to him with another foreigner in the ring massaging Somluck. After round 2 they had the foreigner and a thai in the ring but Van Damme was still outside the ropes talking and someone tried to remove him and he got pissed. Then he stepped in the ring and started fanning Somluck with the towel until he was pushed out. For the 3 round two thais went in and Van Damme had to stay on the floor next to ring. This probably cost somluck the fight since Van Damme is boss.

If you’re new to my muay thai, your eyes aren’t deceiving you… these guys are a bit older then your average Nak Muay. Your looking at Jomhod (blue) who’s 42 aka the “King of the Ring” he’s a multiple Rajadomnern and Lumpinee stadium champion. When he finished fighting in Thailand, he moved to Europe and dominated for several years. You can read all about his achievements on his website (http://www.jomhod.com/about.html).

Somluck (http://www.mymuaythai.com/archives/tag/somluck/), (38)who won the Kingdom’s first gold medal at the Atlanta games, is a bit of a superstar. He’s recently become active and has a few fights scheduled. He’s just recently come off a fairly easy victory against Yodwanpadej (http://www.mymuaythai.com/archives/somrak/)… Let’s see if he bothered to train for this match up.

On a side note, if you look carefully you’ll notice an old dude trying to cool off Somluck (http://www.mymuaythai.com/archives/tag/somluck/) in the 3rd… That’s Jean Claude Van Damme. Apparently JCVD says he still wants to fight Somluck (http://www.mymuaythai.com/archives/tag/van-damme/)…

Somrak's conditie speelde 'm parten. Dan te bedenken dat dit gevecht een opwarmer moest zijn voor een gevecht tegen Kem. Dat gaat 'm nooit lukken.

Hier de uitslagen:

Fight 1.
Sakatdao Petchphayathai Vs Mongkonchai Petchsouphaphun.
Sakatdao Wins.

Fight 4.
Sam-A Kaiyang 5 Dao Vs Phookaew Fonjangchonburi (Championship fight)
Sam-A wins after a beautiful display of kicks and an awesome Wai-kru.

Fight 5.
Nong-O Kaiyang 5 Dao Vs Yodvicha P.Bounyasit
Yodvicha takes the win after a very close fight

Fight 6.
Petchbounchoo F.A. group Vs Diesellek Aoddonmuang (Championship fight)
Petchbounchoo keeps the belt after a hard fought fight. Diesellek looked vicious in the earlier round and was elbowing everything he could elbow.

Super Fight.
Somluck Kamsing (Th. Thepsouthin) Vs. Jomhod Kiatadsak (Morbestkamala)
Jomhod pretty much toyed with Somluck the whole fight and went for several flying knees. Somluck looked tired after the first round and got progressively worse but still went for several spinning elbows. Somluck had Jean Claude Van Damme in his corner (yes its true) but it didnt help him win. However JCVD was only in the corner for after round 1 (where he spent time outside the ropes talking instead of inside the ropes rubbing him down) and after the second round when he was outside the ropes talking until someone tried to remove him. He got pissed and stepped in the ring and started fanning Somluck with a towel until he got pushed out. After that he was down on the floor.

Fight 7.
Singdam Kiatmoo 9 vs. Wanchaluam Aoddonmuang.
Singdam wins a quite boring fight.

Fight 8.
ThingThong Ch. Kowyoohah Isuzu Vs Nongbeer Chokgamwong (championship fight)
Thingthong keeps his belt after a REALLY interesting and close fight. Nongbeer has some of the best trips I've ever seen and Thingthong was flying when Nongbeer was going for a trip.

Fight 9.
Sarawout Phitakpapadang Vs Sam-D Petchyindee Academy (championship fight)
Sarawout is a beast but he was really defensive and calm in this fight and this lost him the belt. Sam-D had a vicious left kick and was going forward from round 1.
