The World Series of Fighting has signed a broadcast agreement with Spanish-language sports channel Univision Deportes in advance of its second event, officials recently announced.

The deal bolsters the upstart MMA promotion's TV presence, which is anchored by a multi-year agreement with NBC Sports Network that calls for six events annually. WSOF's NBC debut, which came prior to the agreement, garnered an average of 198,000 viewers.

Both networks will air the five-bout main-card of World Series of Fighting 2, which takes place Saturday at Revel Atlantic City in Atlantic City, N.J. A seven-bout preliminary-card streams live on Sherdog.com.

"This is a real feather in the cap not only of MMA but World Series of Fighting as well," WSOF official Jim Hunter said during a media teleconference in support of the event.

WSOF 2 is headlined by a heavyweight bout between ex-UFC champ Andrei Arlovski and Anthony Johnson. Bantamweights Tyson Nam and Marlon Moraes co-headline.

WSOF CEO Ray Sefo said the promotion isn't looking beyond six events annually. The promotion's next event takes place June 14 in Las Vegas.

Univision Deportes, which came on the air this past April, is available on cable providers DirecTV, Dish Network, and AT&T U-verse and, according to the company, reaches 96 percent of U.S. Hispanic homes.

Since its inception, the channel has aggressively expanded into the sports TV market, striking deals to air FIFA soccer events.
