The date has been in place for a while, and now UFC on FOX 8 has a location.

The UFC this summer will head to Seattle for the third time when it brings a nationally televised card to KeyArena. The Seattle Times on Friday brought word of the event, citing the UFC.

UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 with what is expected to be a four-fight main card on FOX following prelims on FX and Facebook. No fights have yet been announced for the card.

The UFC most recently visited Seattle in December for UFC on FOX 5, which featured a main event lightweight title fight between champion Benson Henderson, a Washington native, and challenger Nate Diaz. Henderson dominated the fight and won by unanimous decision. Prior to that, the UFC was at KeyArena in March 2011 for a UFC "Fight Night" event.

Both of those shows were sellouts, with December's event doing a gate in excess of $1.5 million.

The UFC hosts nationally televised shows on FOX once each quarter. For the first quarter of 2013, UFC on FOX 6 took place at Chicago's United Center. Next month, UFC on FOX 7 takes place at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

And though a location has not yet been announced, the UFC and FOX already have set aside Dec. 14 for its fourth quarter card, UFC on FOX 9.

The UFC has no shortage of fighters from the Pacific Northwest, including flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, who was supposed to headline the TUF 17 Finale next month before falling off with an injury. The timetable could be right for him to return in late July against top contender John Moraga. Johnson in January headlined the UFC on FOX 6 card with a win over John Dodson.

Jake Ellenberger vs. Rory MacDonald added to July's UFC on FOX 8 in Seattle

A bout between top-shelf welterweights Rory MacDonald (14-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Jake Ellenberger (29-6 MMA, 8-2 UFC) should further shrink the ranks of title contenders.

Canada-based newspaper The Province today passed along word of the matchup, which is set for UFC on FOX 8 on July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena, and UFC officials confirmed it.

Although the fight's position on the summer card isn't set, it's expected to serve on the event's FOX-televised main-card, which follows prelims on FX and Facebook.

MacDonald returns to action on the heels of a neck and back strain which forced his removal from this past month's UFC 158 and scratched a rematch with Carlos Condit. According to several reports, the welterweight prospect re-injured himself, which pushed back his timetable for recovery. It appears, however, that not only has the Condit fight taken a back seat, but he'll be fight to fight this summer.

MacDonald's trainer, Firas Zahabi, told MMAjunkie he was trying to get his fighter to train smarter and not harder.

"He's too aggressive," Zahabi said. "I really try to hold the reigns. I tell him, 'OK Rory, we're going to do less today,' and we always end up doing more. Emotions get in the way, and he wants to spar more."

Still, whatever the 23-year-old is doing, it's working. MacDonald has won his past four inside the octagon.

Ellenberger, meanwhile, is enjoying back-to-back wins. He was set to fight No. 1 contender Johny Hendricks at UFC 158 before MacDonald's injury shuffled the card, and he was rebooked to fight Nate Marquardt. In a quick drubbing, he knocked out the ex-Strikeforce champ in three minutes and secured a "Knockout of the Night" bonus.

Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine targeted for UFC on FOX 8 in Seattle

The final welterweight champion in Strikeforce history will make his UFC debut this summer.

Tarec Saffiedine (14-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is targeted for a meeting with Robbie Lawler (20-9 MMA, 5-3 UFC) at 170 pounds at UFC on FOX 8. Sources close to the fight on Thursday confirmed the booking to MMAjunkie.

UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at KeyArena in Seattle. The main card will air on FOX following prelims on FX and Facebook.

Saffiedine in January fought Nate Marquardt for Strikeforce's welterweight title and won a five-round unanimous decision in the last fight in the promotion's history. That win gave him four straight in the promotion, all by decision. His lone loss in the promotion came by decision to Tyron Woodley in January 2011.

But in the three months that have passed since that fight, Saffiedine was one of the last to cross over from Strikeforce to the UFC still waiting for a fight booking. Now the Belgium-born 26-year-old, who trains at Team Quest with Dan Henderson, finally has his first UFC fight.

Lawler in February returned to the UFC after more than eight years and upset Josh Koscheck with a first-round TKO. That fight also was Lawler's return to the welterweight division after years at middleweight, which included winning the EliteXC 185-pound title.

The past four years have been up and down for Lawler with a 5-5 mark. But all five wins have come by knockout, including his "Knockout of the Night" bonus winner over Koscheck at UFC 157. Prior to that, Lawler had dropped three of four fights, starting with a Strikeforce middleweight title loss to Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza in January 2011.

Along with the new Lawler-Saffiedine booking, UFC on FOX 8 also includes a recently announced welterweight bout between contenders Rory MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger, plus a lightweight fight between Mac Danzig and Melvin Guillard.

The latest UFC on FOX 8 card now includes:

Jake Ellenberger vs. Rory MacDonald
Mac Danzig vs. Melvin Guillard
Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine*

Julie Kedzie vs. Germaine de Randamie booked for July's UFC on FOX 8 event

The UFC's 135-pound women's division continues to fill out, and a new booking of Julie Kedzie (16-11 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Germaine de Randamie (3-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is the latest pairing in the class.

UFC officials today announced the matchup, which takes place at UFC on FOX 8. That card takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena.

The two were actually supposed to meet in a 2011 fight under the Strikeforce banner, but Kedzie was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury, and a replacement opponent was never named.

Kedzie, a Team Jackson-Winkeljohn fighter, makes her UFC debut as she looks to break a two-fight losing streak. Still, her efforts in the two fights (against Miesha Tate and Alexis Davis) were enough to earn her an invitation to the octagon.

Meanwhile, Dutch fighter de Randamie has just five MMA fights under her belt but is a former kickboxing world champion with refined striking. The 28-year-old de Randamie went 2-1 in her three fights under the Strikeforce banner. She currently trains at California's American Kickboxing Academy.

With the addition to the card, UFC on FOX 8 includes:

Jake Ellenberger vs. Rory MacDonald
Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine
Mac Danzig vs. Melvin Guillard
Danny Castillo vs. Bobby Green

Michael Chiesa vs. Reza Madadi added to UFC on FOX 8 in Seattle

Another lightweight fight has been added to July's UFC on FOX 8 event, as Michael Chiesa (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) meets Reza Madadi (13-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC).

FOXSports first reported the booking, and UFC officials later confirmed the matchup.

UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena. The night's headlining bout has yet to be announced.

Chiesa was the surprise winner of "The Ultimate Fighter 15," upsetting the favored Al Iaquinta in "Submission of the Night" fashion at the show's live finale. He returned to action in February with a rear-naked choke win over Finland's Anton Kuivanen.

Meanwhile, Swedish resident Madadi fight for the first time in the U.S. "Mad Dog" competed in both of the UFC's visits to Sweden, earning an exciting win over Michael Johnson earlier this month and a submission victory over Yoislandy Izquierdo in 2012. In between those contests, he fought in Brazil at UFC 153 where he was handed a dubious split-decision loss to Cristiano Marcello.

With the addition of the bout, UFC on FOX 8 now includes:

Jake Ellenberger vs. Rory MacDonald
Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine
Mac Danzig vs. Melvin Guillard
Danny Castillo vs. Bobby Green
Julie Kedzie vs. Germaine de Randamie
Michael Chiesa vs. Reza Madadi
Yves Edwards vs. Spencer Fisher

Champ Johnson vs. Moraga headlines UFC on FOX 8; Carmouche vs. Tate added

UFC on FOX 8 finally has a headliner, as UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (17-2-1 MMA, 5-1-1 UFC) meets challenger John Moraga (12-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC).

Additionally, a women's bout between Liz Carmouche (8-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Miesha Tate (13-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has also been added to the event and will take place on the evening's main card.

The additions were first reported by FOXSports and later confirmed by UFC officials.

UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena. The evening's main card airs on FOX.

The Johnson vs. Moraga bout was originally expected to headline this month's The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale event before the champ was forced out with an injury. "Mighty Mouse" most recently appeared at UFC on FOX 6, where he survived a tough second round against John Dodson to recover and cruise to a unanimous decision in the event's headliner.

The 26-year-old Johnson, who trains out of AMC Pankration, became the UFC's first flyweight champion at UFC 152, where he won a split decision against Joseph Benavidez in the unofficial final of a four-man tournament created to crown the division's first titleholder.

Meanwhile, Moraga gets the title shot on the strength of two straight wins in the octagon. He debuted this past August with a first-round TKO of Ulysses Gomez, then followed up with a third-round submission of Chris Cariaso at UFC 155 that won him a $65,000 performance bonus.

Tate looks to bounce back from a loss to Cat Zingano at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, where she was ahead on the cards two rounds to none before "Alpha" bounced back with an incredible third-round TKO comeback. The bout earned both women a share of the evening's "Fight of the Night" bonus, while Zingano was also awarded a shot at women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and a slot as a coach on "The Ultimate Fighter 18."

Carmouche looks to earn her first UFC win after falling short against Rousey in the first women's bout in UFC history. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak for the Strikeforce and Invicta FC veteran.

Matt Mitrione no longer suspended, meets Brendan Schaub at UFC on FOX 8

Sixteen days after he was suspended by the UFC for transphobic comments directed toward transgender fighter Fallon Fox, Matt Mitrione (6-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) has been booked for his next fight.

UFC officials announced Wednesday night that Mitrione will meet fellow "The Ultimate Fighter 10" cast member Brendan Schaub (9-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) at UFC on FOX 8.

Featuring a flyweight title fight between current champ Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga, UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena. The evening's main card airs on FOX.

Mitrione fought earlier this month at UFC on FUEL TV 9, where he earned a 19-second win over Philip De Fries. Two days later, in an appearance on "The MMA Hour," Mitrione called Fox a "lying, sick, sociopathic, disgusting freak."

In response, the UFC issued a statement saying the "TUF 10" veteran's contract has been suspended and he will be investigated.

"The UFC was appalled by the transphobic comments made by heavyweight Matt Mitrione today in an interview on 'The MMA Hour,'" the statement read. "The organization finds Mr. Mitrione’s comments offensive and wholly unacceptable and – as a direct result of this significant breach of the UFC’s code of conduct – Mr. Mitrione's UFC contract has been suspended and the incident is being investigated. The UFC is a friend and ally of the (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community, and expects and requires all 450 of its athletes to treat others with dignity and respect."

At this past weekend's UFC on FOX 7 event, UFC President Dana White said he has since spoken with Mitrione who apologized for his remarks. White said the promotion fined Mitrione but expected him to be released from suspension would soon be lifted.

"I'm not mad at Mitrione," White said this past weekend. "He did something stupid. He knows he did something stupid. He knows the way he said it, he didn't handle it the right way. He knows he did, so I can respect that."

In a stat sure to draw some ire, Mitrione is now scheduled to fight 112 days after his most recent appearance, which represents the shortest span between official fights in his professional career.

Meanwhile, Schaub looks to build on the strength of a UFC 157 win over Lavar Johnson. The decision result was a much-needed win for Schaub, who has previously dropped back-to-back fights.

Ed Herman vs. Trevor Smith added to July's UFC on FOX 8 event

A middleweight matchup between four-time Strikeforce veteran Trevor Smith (10-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and "The Ultimate Fighter 3" finalist Ed Herman (20-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) is the latest edition to July' UFC on FOX 8 event.

UFC officials today announced the new booking.

Featuring a headliner between UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga, UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena. The evening's main card airs on FOX. The Herman vs. Smith bout is expected for the evening's preliminary card.

"Hot Sauce" Smith makes his UFC debut after losing his final two appearances under the now-shuttered Strikeforce banner. Most recently, he was submitted by Tim Kennedy at this past January's "Marquardt vs. Saffiedine" event.

Between those two losses, Smith also earned a submission win while fighting in a Battle Xtreme Championship bout in Massachusetts.

Meanwhile, Herman also fought at the same January event, where he was submitted by former champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza in a onetime appearance for Strikeforce. It was also Herman's second-straight defeat, though his official record only reflects one of those losses after an August 2012 bout with Jake Shields was overturned when his opponent failed his post-fight drug screen.

Aaron Riley vs. Justin Salas added to July's UFC on FOX 8 event

A lightweight matchup between Aaron Riley (30-13-1 MMA, 3-5 UFC) and Justin Salas (10-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is the latest addition to the UFC on FOX 8 lineup.

The new booking was revealed during Tuesday's new edition of "UFC Tonight."

Featuring a flyweight title fight between current champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga, UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena. The evening's main card airs on FOX.

The Riley vs. Salas fight is expected to take place on the evening's preliminary card, portions of which air on FX and stream on Facebook.

Both Riley and Salas are both looking to rebound from losses, and both were recently forced to pull out of scheduled appearances due to injury.

Riley, a near-16-year veteran of the sport, hasn't competed since September 2011, when a broken jaw forced him to quit on the stool after the first round of a bout with Tony Ferguson. Riley was then expected to return in May 2012 in a UFC on FUEL TV 3 bout with Cody McKenzie. However, injury forced Riley out of that contest, and he has been sitting idle since.

The 32-year-old Riley has competed just six times in the octagon in the past four-and-a-half years.

Meanwhile, Salas fights for the first time since a June 2012 loss to Tim Means, a result that snapped a six-fight win streak for "J-Bomb." He was expected to return to action in January against Edson Barboza at UFC on FX 7, but injury forced him to withdraw from the fight.

John Albert vs. Yaotzin Meza added to July's UFC on FOX 8 event

A bantamweight contest between John Albert (7-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) and Yaotzin Meza (19-8 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is the latest addition to July's UFC on FOX 8 event.

UFC officials today announced the new booking.

Featuring a flyweight title fight between current champ Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga, UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena. The evening's main card airs on FOX following prelims on FX and Facebook.

Albert vs. Meza is expected to serve on the evening's preliminary card and is likely a must-win for both fighters.

A former cast member on "The Ultimate Fighter 14," Albert looks to snap a three-fight losing streak after falling victim to submissions from Ivan Menjivar, Erik Perez and Scott Jorgensen. The most recent fight, against Jorgensen, earned Albert a "Fight of the Night" bonus and apparently another shot in the promotion despite the losses.

Meanwhile, Meza is a teammate of UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson at Arizona's The MMA Lab. He made his UFC debut in a featherweight matchup against Chad Mendes as a late-replacement opponent and was knocked out in the first round. He now gets the benefit of a full training camp as he drops down to 135 pounds.

With the addition, the UFC on FOX 8 lineup now includes:

Reza Madadi out of UFC on FOX 8, Jorge Masvidal now meets Michael Chiesa

Reza Madadi (13-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has been forced out of his lightweight fight against Michael Chiesa (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) at UFC on FOX 8, and Jorge Masvidal (24-7 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will step in to take his place.

The announcement was made on Tuesday night's edition of "UFC Tonight" on FUEL TV. Visa issues for Madadi reportedly are to blame.

UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at KeyArena in Seattle and is headlined by a flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and top contender John Moraga. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FX and Facebook.

Masvidal in April won his UFC debut with a unanimous decision victory over Tim Means after coming over from Strikeforce, where he went 6-1 with the lone loss coming in a lightweight title fight against champion Gilbert Melendez. The American Top Team product also has fights for Bellator and Sengoku on his resume.

Chiesa won Season 15 of "The Ultimate Fighter," upsetting favorite Al Iaquinta and winning "Submission of the Night" at the show's live finale. In February, he picked up a rear-naked choke win over Anton Kuivanen at UFC 157.

Meanwhile, Madadi, a resident of Sweden, was going to be fighting for the first time in the United States. "Mad Dog" competed in both of the UFC's visits to Sweden, picking up a win over Michael Johnson this past month and a submission win over Yoislandy Izquierdo in 2012. In the middle, he dropped a split decision at UFC 153 to Cristiano Marcello.

With the change, UFC on FOX 8 now includes:

Liz Carmouche vs. Jessica Andrade added to UFC on FOX 8 in Seattle

Liz Carmouche will continue to add to her list of UFC firsts, and now she has a new opponent to do it against.

Carmouche (8-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will meet Jessica Andrade (9-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) this summer at UFC on FOX 8. After being part of the first women's fight in UFC history, she'll now be involved in the first women's fight on the FOX network. Carmouche was scheduled to fight Miesha Tate on the card before Tate was pulled to coach on Season 18 of "The Ultimate Fighter."

Carmouche alluded to the fight on her Twitter account. The matchup was reported by MMA Fighting.

UFC on FOX 8 takes place July 27 at Seattle's KeyArena. The evening's main card, including a flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Moraga, airs on FOX following prelims on FX and Facebook.

Carmouche in February made her UFC debut by challenging Ronda Rousey for the UFC's women's bantamweight title. She lost by first-round arm bar, becoming Rousey's latest victim of the move she's famous for. Prior to that, she had a pair of wins under the Invicta FC banner with stoppages of Ashleigh Curry and Kaitlin Young. Carmouche started her career 6-0 before Strikeforce losses to Marloes Coenen and Sarah Kaufman.

Andrade, from Brazil, has won back-to-back fights in 2013 by submission after a loss in December to Jennifer Maia. The 21-year-old won seven of her first eight bouts before the Maia loss. She went 5-2 in a busy 2012.

With the addition, the UFC on FOX 8 lineup now includes:
