Afgelopen weekend vocht Aleide Lawant van loek's Gym uit Alkmaar in het Pechanga Resort in Los Angeles voor de WBC wereldtitel MuayThai. Tegenstandster was de nog ongeslagen Amerikaanse Miriam Nakamoto die recentelijk nog in haar laatste partij de "Queen of MuayThai Julie Kitchen" versloeg.

Het werd een echt titelgevecht waarbij beide dames elkaar 5 ronden van 3 minuten stevig onderhande namen en we hopen snel beelden van deze partij te zien.

De Nederlands-Amerikaanse top fotograve Josephine Runneboom (Photojoto) was aanwezig om het gala en deze partij op foto vast te leggen voor oa. Mixfight.

Wilde het net typen, het "vuurwerk" en de verbetenheid spat van het scherm af. Overigens altijd leuk/goed om de nederlandse dames en heren bij de "echte" bonden aan het werk te zien. WMC en WBC zijn toch de titels die echt wat zeggen. Waarmee ik overigens niets wil afdoen aan de nederlandse titels. Internationaal gezien wordt er gewoonweg naar deze titels gekeken. Respect ook voor mevrouw Lawant, heeft echt tegen de top gevochten op thaise regels: Nakamoto en Kitchen zijn wereldtop!! Zelf vind ik het ook jammer dat er weinig Nederlanders hun geluk beproeven (voor langere tijd) in Thailand. Ikzelf kom daar regelmatig en zie titels "weggegeven" worden aan dames en heren die hier C of B zouden draaien... ps: sorry de "enter" deed het niet....
