Donald Cerrone meets Adriano Martins at UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago

The UFC’s two most recent “Submission of the Night” winners have been booked to face each other in January.

Fresh off his win a week ago against Evan Dunham, Donald Cerrone (21-6 MMA, 8-3 UFC) will meet Adriano Martins (25-6 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in a lightweight bout when the UFC returns to Chicago for UFC on FOX 10. UFC officials announced the new fight booking on Saturday.

UFC on FOX 10 takes place Jan. 25 at United Center in the “Windy City.” It will be the third straight January the UFC has been to the venue for a FOX card the week prior to the NFL’s Super Bowl. The main card will air on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and MMAjunkie.

Cerrone got back on track last week in Las Vegas in a fight that was evenly matched on paper and with oddsmakers. But he tore through Dunham, eventually catching him with a second-round triangle choke to pick up the $50,000 submission bonus. That erased his rough outing against Rafael dos Anjos in August, a fight he dropped by unanimous decision. The bonus was his seventh in 11 UFC fights to go along with five he won while in the WEC.

Martins stretched his winning streak to six fights when he won his UFC debut earlier this month at UFC Fight Night 32 in his native Brazil, a week before “Cowboy” won his bonus. In his first fight since a January Strikeforce win over Jorge Gurgel, Martins picked up “Submission of the Night” for his kimura win over Daron Cruickshank.

Jared Rosholt meets newcomer Oleksiy Oliynyk at UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago

Just a week after winning his UFC debut, Jared Rosholt has his next assignment.

Rosholt (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will meet newly signed Russian Oleksiy Oliynyk (2-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in a heavyweight bout when the UFC returns to Chicago next month for UFC on FOX 10. Promotion officials announced the new fight booking on Saturday.

UFC on FOX 10 takes place Jan. 25 at United Center in Chicago. The main card, including a main-event lightweight contenders bout between former UFC champ Benson Henderson and former Strikeforce titleholder Josh Thomson, will air on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and MMAjunkie.

Rosholt made his promotional debut a week ago at the TUF 18 Finale and took a hard-fought unanimous decision against fellow debutant Walter Harris. (Harris also has been booked for his next fight on UFC on FOX 10.) That ran Rosholt’s winning streak to five following his lone loss at Legacy FC 13. The brother of former UFC fighter Jake Rosholt has an even mix of wins in his career – three knockouts, three submissions and three decisions.

Oliynyk signs with the UFC following a submission victory over former UFC heavyweight and PRIDE legend Mirko Filipovic in November. Oliynyk stopped “Cro Cop” with a first-round neck crank, forcing the Croation to tap.

UFC on FOX 10 will be touching down at United Centre in the “Windy City” of Chicago on January 25 for a 12 bout card. FOX will carry the main card live at 8 PM, ET (5 PM, PT) followed by a preliminary card featuring 6 fights on FOX Sports 1 (5 PM, ET) as well as 2 prelims on the UFC’s brand new Fight Pass digital network (4 PM,ET).
The main event will feature a lightweight contender fight, pitting former UFC champion Benson “smooth” Henderson (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC)against the former Strikeforce Champion Josh “the Punk” Thomson (20-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC)
The co-main event, in addition to the cards main event, will be a heavyweight fight between Stipe Miocic (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and Gabriel Gonzaga (16-7 MMA, 11-6 UFC) a lightweight bout between Donald Cerrone (21-6 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and Adriano Martins (25-6 MMA, 1-0UFC), the main card will be opened by a featherweight bout featuring Darren Elkins (17-3 MMA, 7-2 UFC), from Northwest Indiana, fighting Jeremy Stephens (22-9 MMA, 9-8 UFC).
FlyweightSergio Pettis (10-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) from Milwaukee will take on Alex Caceres (9-5 MMA, 4-3 UFC) in the FOX Sports 1 part of the prelims.While Pettis teammate Pascal Krauss (11-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) will fight Russian newcomer Adam Khaliev (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and in his first fight since losing an interim bantamweight title fight against Renan Barao, Eddie Wineland (20-9-1 MMA, 2-3 UFC) from Indiana’s Northwest will face Yves Jabouin (19-8 MMA, 4-2 UFC).
