The report also says that Vitor Belfort (http://www.MixedMartialArts.com/f/B32725C4FE3EE744/Vitor-Belfort/) will be fighting Chael Sonnen (http://www.MixedMartialArts.com/f/31C9569464CDFBDB/Chael-Sonnen/) on the same card.
UFC 175 will also feature UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida, and UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey vs. Alexis Davis.

The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 coaches Wanderlei Silva (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/102/wanderlei-silva) and Chael Sonnen (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/103/chael-sonnen) won’t fight on July 5. The former PRIDE champion missed a meeting with Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and won’t get licensed to fight in Las Vegas, so Vitor Belfort (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/83/vitor-belfort) will replace the fellow Brazilian in a light heavyweight bout against Sonnen.
MMAFighting.com confirmed the news with sources close to the situation. Combate (http://sportv.globo.com/site/combate/noticia/2014/05/wanderlei-falta-exames-medicos-e-vitor-e-o-rival-de-sonnen-no-ufc-175.html) first reported the change.
According to the report, Belfort passed all the tests run by NSAC and was licensed to fight Sonnen on July 5.
Belfort (24-10) returns to the Octagon for the first time since pulling out of a title fight with Chris Weidman (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/352/chris-weidman) at UFC 173 (http://www.mmafighting.com/fight-card/600/ufc-173). Lyoto Machida (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/49/lyoto-machida) replaced Belfort, and the fight was moved to July 5 after the champion needed surgery in both knees. He won three straight in 2013.
Sonnen (28-14-1) was originally scheduled to face Silva on May 31 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but the fight was moved to UFC 175 (http://www.mmafighting.com/fight-card/616/ufc-175) after the Brazilian got injured during a brawl with Sonnen during TUF: Brazil 3. The former UFC middleweight challenger is coming off a first-round loss to Rashad Evans (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/43/rashad-evans).
UFC 175 takes place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev. and is headlined by a pair of title fights. Sonnen en Silva, ze interesseren mij beiden niks. Ik houd niet van die poppenkast, van Sonnen kan ik het nog enigszins hebben omdat het een typische Amerikaan is en het gewoon tot zijn cultureel erfgoed behoord. Die Silva zie ik gewoon helemaal niet graag ondanks dat het toch een legende is, sorry voor de fans.

Wanderlei Silva was pulled from his scheduled UFC 175 grudge match against Chael Sonnen (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/103/chael-sonnen) due to a failure to submit an application to fight in the state of Nevada, as well as his refusal to undergo a random drug test, sources told MMAFighting.com.
Silva had "ample time" to submit his application to compete at UFC 175 and elected not to do so, according to Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) Executive Director Robert Bennett.
In addition, according to sources, both Silva and Sonnen were asked to undergo random drug tests while in Nevada last week for UFC 173 (http://www.mmafighting.com/fight-card/600/ufc-173). Sonnen complied with the request, however when asked to do the same, Silva refused.
NSAC officials declined to comment on matters regarding the random tests.
According to Bennett, Vitor Belfort (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/83/vitor-belfort), who replaced Silva on UFC 175's (http://www.mmafighting.com/fight-card/616/ufc-175) pay-per-view lineup on Wednesday, submitted an application to fight in the state of Nevada last week.
Belfort's application will undergo a "comprehensive review" at a June 17 meeting of NSAC officials, and while Bennett stated that no decision will be reached until the date of the meeting, he acknowledged that the commission will likely require Belfort to undergo supplementary drug testing before the commission reviews his license.
The polarizing Brazilian middleweight recently withdrew from a championship fight against Chris Weidman (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/352/chris-weidman) less than 24 hours after the NSAC unanimously voted to ban the use of testosterone replacement therapy in Nevada.
UFC officials issued the following statement on Wednesday:
"Due to issues related to Wanderlei Silva's (http://www.mmafighting.com/fighter/102/wanderlei-silva) licensing in the state of Nevada, the UFC was forced to seek a replacement opponent to face Chael Sonnen at UFC 175 on Saturday, July 5 in Las Vegas. Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort has accepted the fight with Sonnen, subject to Belfort receiving a license to compete from the Nevada Athletic Commission."

Je kan van alles over Sonnen vinden maar het valt niet te ontkennen dat hij wel een puur vechtershart heeft. Van Silva naar Belfort op relatief short notice. Je moet het maar doen.
Heel erg benieuwd naar Belfort in zijn after TRT tijdperk. Ondanks dat ik hem buiten de ring niet kan uitstaan zou Belfort vs Weidman/Machida voor de titel wel echt een droompartij zijn!

Je onderschat mij of overschat jezelf of je hebt je dag niet. Ik ben geen kenner maar zeker wel een liefhebber en ook niet iemand die pas net komt kijken. Ik vind Silva een eikel, in Pride, in the UFC en ook zeker in TUF.

Een vechtershart.... Chael sonnen... Serieus? Ik bedoel natuurlijk, als vechter moet je lef hebben om tegen grote namen te vechten, maar chael sonnen en een vechtershart? Behalve zodra het gevecht niet gaat zoals hij wilt, dan doet hij een schildpad na en denkt hij: 'ach, op naar de volgende'.
Hoe hij, als een jongetje die op de schoolplein wordt geslagen, op de grond met zijn beentjes lag te wapperen toen tegen rashad ben ik niet gauw vergeten.
als ik aan vechters met een groot vechtershart denk dan denk ik niet gauw aan sonnen maarja, dat is puur mijn mening.
Over deze situatie die zich afspeelt met Silva kan ik het niet genoeg met Sonnen eens zijn. Over de hele Silva kwestie, natuurlijk strooit hij nog wat zout in de wonden maar dit is opnieuw een kans voor hem om voor de titel te vechten. Hij kiest zijn paden wel goed, ik ben benieuwd hoe het gaat uitpakken, ik hoop niet weer op een gevecht zoals tegen Rashad, terwijl hij tegen A. Silva weer wel erop ging. Het kan twee kanten op gaan en het licht puur aan de attitude die Sonnen mee brengt.
Daarnaast is die testosteron-aap aan een lekkere streak binnen en hoop dat Sonnen hem flink in elkaar timmert, dat zou pas lachen zijn.

Je hebt daarin gelijk, tegen Evans was het niet veel. Bedoelde het meer in de zin van grote bek maar gaat er toch maar staan. Misschien is het zoals je zegt meer lef dan een vechtershart maar dat was het eerste wat in me opkwam. Er zijn er zat die ranking spelletjes spelen en nooit tegen mannen als Belfort of Jones op shortnotice gaan staan. Zijn WEC partijen ken ik niet echt. Maar in de UFC was het alleen Evans die hem echt als zielige jochie liet stoppen.

Maar kom op zeg, als Sonnen wint van Belfort kun je hem niet 'belonen' met een titleshot tegen Machida/Weidman. Totaal niet verdient. Verbaast me dat Vitor dit accepteert tenzij UFC veel druk op hem zet. Als hij nog wat geduld had krijg hij al de volgende titleshot.

was een fan van wanderlei maar nadat is het wel echt moeilijk. vooral ook omdat chael dit had voorspeld. Is het misschien allemaal doorgestoken kaart?
Sonnen wint van Vitor of in de title shot verliest vitor. ben benieuwd hoe hij dat dan gaat verklaren met zijn god gebrabbel
