The UFC is about to launch the new Super Heavyweight class for*competitors weighing above 265 lb (120 kg),*according to UFC president Dana White.

White said on FOXSports.com’s*“The Fighter & The Kid” podcast*that the UFC has begun “working on” debuting a 300-pound men division.*White has previously spoken*about bringing in 300-pound men, but has been non-committal yet about a same weight division for the ladies.

As White has said many times, as the UFC continues its global expansion, starting bigger and bigger weight classes is crucial.

“We’re actually working on bringing in members of the American Sumo Wrestling Federation, which I said would never happen for a long time,” White told hosts Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen.

“We are also thinking of special events where all weight classes could fight against each other, so a 125 pound guy could be fighting a 325 pound monster, that would be epic,” White replied.

The new Super Heavyweight Class is scheduled to be inaugurated this fall.

Former champ Sylvia: UFC doing sh*t just to piss me the f*ck off

As soon as the UFC announced it's first ever show in Maine, former heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (http://www.MixedMartialArts.com/f/C28062F7193CF42F/Tim-Sylvia/) has been lobbying for a return to the promotion. The UFC never called and Sylvia blames UFC President Dana White and feels like the UFC is just trying to 'p*ss him off':
"At this point, I really don't give a shit," said Sylvia of returning to the UFC. "They just added a super heavyweight division, I hear. So, it's like, it seems like every month, every other month they're doing something just to entice me or to piss me off and say, 'Ha ha, look what we're doing now and you're still not welcome back.' They're just doing shit just to piss me the fuck off. It's really annoying. Now that they have a super heavyweight division, give me a chance to win another belt in another division. Randy Couture’s done it. BJ Penn's done it.
There's no way I could ever fight light heavyweight. Well, now they're adding super heavyweight. I know I could win that belt, as long as guys like Cain Velasquez doesn't step up and fight for the super heavyweight belt. I'm a realist. I know Cain is the best guy out there right now. I still have the punching power. If I hit him, if I got lucky and hit a good shot off him, I'd knock him out. He's a smart fighter. He'd go in there and take me down, take me down and then when I think he's gonna take me down, he's gonna stand up, and it would just be a horrible, physical fight for me if I had to fight 25 minutes with that guy.

Is dit for real?

Bring back Pride!
