Manny Pacquiao says he sat down and watched a replay of his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and he says he thinks he should have won by the fight by two points. Unfortunately for Pacquiao, he wasn’t one of the three judges that scored the fight on May 2nd, because they scored it 116-112, 118-110 and 116-112.

I personally scored the fight 118-110 for Mayweather. 116-112 way too close for the way Mayweather dominated the action. The thing is Mayweather was in 1st gear for most of the fight, and not really putting much effort into it.

Pacquiao’s clumsy mistakes made it an incredibly easy fight for Mayweather to win, much easier than his two fights against Marcos Maidana.

“I reviewed the fight and kept score. I won by two points, but a decision has been made and we have to accept it,” Pacquiao said via nst.com. “I (would) like that [a rematch with Mayweather]. I want that. But my focus right now is my shoulder, my work as a congressman and my family.”

I think Pacquiao first needs to come to terms with the fact that he lost the fight to Mayweather. Pacquiao needs to sit down, have a strong cup of coffee, and sit back and watch his fight against Mayweather again so that he can realize things didn’t go well for him. It wasn’t just the three judges that had Pacquiao losing the fight, massive amounts of other people saw the 36-year-old Filipino star lose as well.

As far as I can tell, only a group of fans on the fringes thought Pacquiao won the fight, and they’ve obviously been drowned out by fans that felt that he was totally schooled by Mayweather. Pacquiao just didn’t have a good game plan for the fight, and once it was clear that he didn’t have the stomach to bum rush Mayweather for 12 rounds, the fight become totally one-sided.

Mayweather isn’t interested in fighting Pacquiao a second time because he sees him as sore loser because he can’t admit that he lost the fight. Mayweather doesn’t buy into Pacquiao’s shoulder injury excuse as the reason why he lost the fight, and he thinks the guy simply didn’t have the talent to compete with him. The problem with Mayweather taking on Pacquiao again is that even if Mayweather beat him again, there’s a chance that Pacquiao wouldn’t admit that was beaten. It then could turn into a sad scene of Mayweather beating Pacquiao again and again with Pacquiao insisting each time that he felt he won the fight.

It would be forlorn. I think Mayweather wants to avoid that kind of situation by cutting Pacquiao off with just one fight. While growing up, I’ve seen some people get whipped on the play grounds, and they would keep getting up and saying that they hadn’t been whipped. They’d then get dropped again, and the process would continue until it was just a sad joke. I think Mayweather stands to gain nothing by fighting Pacquiao again because I believe Pacquiao would never admit that he was beaten.

Hij lijkt nu wel een beetje de weg kwijt inderdaad... vond em voor de partij ook al wat vreemd met dat manische gelach de hele tijd maar goed. Hij bewijst z'n fans ook geen dienst met dat gejank.

Manny Pacquiao has been stewing on his loss to Floyd Mayweahter Jr. for the past 12 days, watching the fight over and over again to determine where he went wrong. But after watching their May 2nd “Fight of the Century” repeatedly, the 36-year-old Filipino has come to the conclusion that he won the fight by a 7 rounds to 5 score.

Sadly, these thoughts weren’t shared by the three judges that scored the fight, nor many fans who paid lots of money to see the fight.
They overwhelmingly saw Pacquiao lose to Mayweather in a fight that was conclusive. However, many of Pacquiao’s fans have recently been watching the fight in slow motion and they’ve been counting the punch stats, and they feel that Pacquiao landed enough shots to win.

“I’ve seen the fight over and over and I feel that I won seven [rounds] to five [rounds] for Mayweather,” Pacquiao said via Sports.tempo.com.ph. “I respect their decision so it is time for me to move on.”

The judges scored the fight 116-112, 116-112 and 118-110. Personally, I’ve seen the fight several times, and no matter how many times I watch it, I can’t see Pacquiao doing any better than losing by a 118-110 score.

Mayweather dominated most of the first six rounds, and in the last half of the fight, he easily won most of the rounds. I only gave Pacquiao one round in the last six rounds. Pacquiao was so outclassed in the latter part of the fight that it was no longer interesting to watch.

It’s troubling that Pacquiao can’t admit that he lost the fight to Mayweather. It’s also very disturbing that he failed to inform the Nevada State Athletic Commission about his serious shoulder injury until hours before the fight took place. With Pacquiao unwilling to admit that he lost the fight, it very likely takes any interest out of a second fight taking place, because if Pacquiao thinks he won a fight as one-sided as his loss on May 2nd, it could be a sign that Pacquiao has a hard time accepting when he’s beaten.

Mayweather doesn’t need to face a guy that will potentially claim that he won the fight each time he beats him. It would be really ugly for the sport of boxing if Pacquiao keeps saying he won the fight each time Mayweather beats him.

It would be worse if Pacquiao comes into a rematch with Mayweather with injuries that the boxing public didn’t know about ahead of time, but then are told about them at the post-fight press conference.
