More than any other fight sport, kickboxing is known for having huge knockouts. That made it difficult to pick a shortlist of just four nominees for this year's 'Knockout of the Year' award, as there were lots to choose from. But the four in the list were felt to have a little something extra about them which elevated them over the rest.

Rico Verhoeven vs. Benjamin Adegbuyi, GLORY 26 AMSTERDAM
A dream came true for Verhoeven as he defended his World Heavyweight Championship by stopping Benjamin Adegbuyi in front of an adoring Amsterdam crowd. The first-round stoppage capped a perfect year for Verhoeven and marked his transition from being 'The Prince' to 'The King' of the heavyweight division.

Sittichai Sitsongpeenong vs Davit Kiria, GLORY 22 LILLE, Lille, France
Lots of hype accompanied Sittichai's entry to the GLORY ranks and he more than lived up to it when he debuted in the GLORY 22 FRANCE Lightweight Contender Tournament. His first opponent was the legendarily tough former champion Davit Kiria, yet Sittichai went through him with alarming ease, in the process becoming the first fighter to stop the karate black belt.

Mosab Amrani vs Chi-Bin Lim, GLORY 26 AMSTERDAM
Amrani's debut at GLORY 5 LONDON ended with a masterful and quick body-shot finish and he replicated it early in December by stopping Lim the same way. Amrani works the body like few other fighters. Lim was first hurt with knees to the body and then finished with Amrani's trademark left hand. He went on to win the tournament and book himself a title shot against featherweight champion Serhiy Adamchuk in the new year.

Nieky Holzken vs. Raymond Daniels, GLORY 19 VIRGINIA
The first event of 2015 featured the return of Nieky Holzken as he came back from a long injury layoff to enter and win the GLORY 19 Welterweight Contender Tournament. In the finals he met karate master Raymond Daniels, who was coming off his 'Knockout of the Century' (and official 'Knockout of the Year 2014') win at GLORY 16 DENVER.

Daniels' tricky style and unpredictable timing had confounded most previous opponents but Holzken had the answer, closing his space down and shutting off his angles, all the while hammering him with punches to the head and body, eventually leading to the stoppage.
