Former UFC (http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/mma.cfm?go=news.search&phrase=UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/f/54494EFC3CC798A0/Jon-Jones/)' views on moving to heavyweight are evolving.

Back in 2012 'Bones' viewed a move to heavyweight as inevitable.
I'll definitely move up to heavyweight," he said at the time. "But it'll probably be around 2013. Maybe at the end of 2013.

In April of 2015, Jones appeared on a Google Hangout arranged by Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA teammate AndreiArlovski, and answered the question of a move to heavyweight quite differently.
"Honestly, probably not," said Jones as transcribed by David St. Martin (http://twitter.com/SaintMMA) for MMAFighting.com (http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/4/17/8437859/morning-report-ufc-jon-jones-phil-davis-anthony-johnson-conor-mcgregor-mayweather-lesnar-mma-news). "As I get older I'm maturing a lot more. My weight cuts are becoming a lot more easy. I'm learning how to eat better. I'll probably be at light heavyweight for a long time."

"I'll probably go to heavyweight for one or two superfights at some point and then get back down to light heavyweight."

Jones has been under suspension for the past year, and lifted heavy, putting on a notable amount of size. The fighter was asked on Twitter how many more fights he has at 205, before moving up.

"Maybe three," he tweeted (https://twitter.com/JonnyBones). “DC, Rumble, Gus."
The UFC is expected to announce this week when Jones will fight current champion Daniel Cormier. If Jones beats Cormier, the next fight will likely be with Anthony Johnson. And Jones apparently wants a fight with the man who came closest to beating him, Alexander Gustafsson, at UFC 165 in September of 2013.

And if all goes well, then he will move up. But this is mixed martial arts, and all goes well for no one.
