Former UFC (http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news/search?search=UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/fighter/Ronda-Rousey:985A093AE973B42C) made her first talk show appearance, on the Ellen DeGeneris show, since losing her title to Holly Holm (http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/fighter/Holly-Holm:58E96A9940880E2A) in the upset of the year. In a preview clip for the show, Rousey recalled the fight.
"It's always crazy going into every fight," she began. "It's always chaos, with so many things going on. Things weren't perfect; they never are. I think the one thing that was different, it was my third title fight in nine months, and I don't think anyone has ever even attempted that before."
"I don't make any excuses or anything like that. I've fought in worse conditions. But I think the one thing that was different, I just felt tired. But other than that, I've been more tired."
"I got clipped in the first exchange. So I was knocked out on my feet the first time I got hit. It's hard to really know what's going on. In that first hit, I cut open my whole mouth. I knocked my teeth loose.
"Guys fight each other for five, five-minute rounds - they're teeing off each other's faces and nothing like that happens. It's just destiny. It had to go down that way.
"It was weird, I had almost no perception. I could see, but I couldn't tell how far my hand was from my face, or how far she was from me."
Rousey also discussed the moments after the loss.
"I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself," she said. "And that exact second I’m like, 'I’m nothing, what do I do anymore and no one gives a s*** about me anymore without this.'"
"To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive."
And the studio audience applauded.
