Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is assembling an interesting featherweight showdown for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 92 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, according to MMA Fighting, scheduled for the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Aug. 6, 2016.

Cub Swanson vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri.

After taking a year off from combat sports to recharge his batteries, Swanson (22-7) returned to action at UFC on FOX 19 last April, taking a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Hacran Dias. Kawajiri (35-9-2), meanwhile, is looking to rebound from his unanimous decision loss to Dennis Bermudez back in February.

UFC Fight Night 92, which is expected to feature "Prelims" on the UFC Fight Pass digital network, also includes the featherweight brouhaha between Yair Rodriguez and Alex Caceres (details). Expect more fight card announcements in the coming weeks, if not days.

The UFC’s first Utah event is starting to shape up, and six contests are now official for the card.

In addition to a previously reported featherweight main event of Alex Caceres vs. Yair Rodriguez, UFC officials today revealed five new contests for UFC Fight Night 92, including Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Cub Swanson at featherweight, Court McGee vs. Dominique Steele at welterweight, Zak Cummings vs. Santiago Ponznnibio at welterweight, Viktor Pesta vs. Marcin Tybura at heavyweight and Chris Camozzi vs. Thales Leites at middleweight.

Kawajiri (35-9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has had mixed results in his past four outings, sandwiching decision wins over Jason Knight and Dennis Siver in between decision losses to Dennis Bermudez and Clay Guida. He now meets Swanson (22-7 MMA, 7-3 UFC).

McGee (17-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC) is the winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 11” but now looks to snap out of a disappointing 1-2 run. He faces Steele (14-7 MMA, 1-2 UFC), who is also 1-2 in his past three contests, the lone UFC bouts of his career.

Cummings (19-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) has quietly put together an impressive mark in the UFC octagon, downing Nicolas Dalby, Steele, Yan Cabral and Ben Alloway while only falling short to Gunnar Nelson. He faces Ponzinibbio (22-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC), who looks to build on back-to-back wins over McGee and Andreas Stahl and is 4-1 in his previous five appearances.

Pesta (10-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) is likely end need of a UFC win to hang on to his UFC roster spot after earning just one victory in his three octagon appearances, though the negative results have come against top talents Derrick Lewis and Ruslan Magomedov. He faces Poland’s Tybura (13-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who lost a decision in his UFC debut, falling short against Timothy Johnson.

Camozzi (24-10 MMA, 9-7 UFC) boasts a three-fight winning streak after downing Vitor Miranda, Joe Riggs and Tom Watson. He now face Leites (25-6 MMA, 10-5 UFC) who looks to snap a disappointing two-fight losing streak.

A featherweight bout between Dennis Bermudez (15-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and Rony Jason (14-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night 92’s fight card.

Justine Kish out at UFC Fight Night 92, UFC seeks U.S.-based opponent for Maryna Moroz

Undefeated strawweight Justine Kish (5-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has been forced out of a UFC Fight Night 92 contest with Maryna Moroz (7-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC), and UFC officials are currently seeking a replacement opponent for the contest.

Featuring a featherweight matchup between Yair Rodriguez and Alex Caceres, UFC Fight Night 92 takes place Aug. 6 in Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City. The night’s main card airs on FS1 following four preliminary bouts on the same channel and two prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

With just two weeks to secure a new opponent, UFC officials are seeking a U.S.-based competitor.

Kish today announced a spiral fracture of her finger was the culprit to blame for her removal.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cn_zNuOW8AEyMDJ.jpg

“Sorry to ‘break’ it to all of my wonderful friends and fans,” Kish wrote. “What I thought was just a finger sprain during practice Wednesday night ends up being a complete spiral fracture. My hand simply got tangled in my training partner’s gi and somehow my finger cracked in the scramble. This is my first fracture (ever) and it physically hurts, … but not as much as it hurts to tell you all that I will no longer be fighting on UFC Fight Night 92.

“I’m taking this time to shift gears. Just this week alone, I’ve hit some emotional highs and lows. I believe I’m slightly in shock from all of the excitement and preparations of this fight coming up to THIS. Let me just say, when anyone tells me I can’t do something – I don’t take it well, and I do everything in my power to prove them wrong.

“These next fews days I’ll be meeting with specialists in California to find the best fix for this injury. At the very least, I’m optimistic that a cast will do the trick – however, I’m currently facing surgical options, as well. I’ll be doing my best to keep everyone posted and updated. Again, I’m very sorry for disappointing.”

With the change to the card, UFC Fight Night 92 now includes:
