The UFC had no events scheduled for Asia in 2016. Until now.

For the second straight year, the UFC will hold a show in the Philippines, the promotion announced Wednesday night. UFC Fight Night in Manila will take place Oct. 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

UFC bantamweight contender John Dodson made the announcement in Manila with UFC Asia executive vice president and general manager Ken Berger.

"The consistently warm reception we receive from Filipino fans and last year's sold out event shows us that UFC has an incredibly strong following in the country," Berger said in a statement. "Manila is a fighting city and we hope to put on another unforgettable show that will capture the hearts of Filipino sports fans throughout the country."

UFC Fight Night 66 in May 2015 featured a main event between Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber in Manila. Edgar won via unanimous decision. Filipino-American Mark Munoz also took home a victory in his final career fight on that card. It was the UFC's first-ever event in the Philippines.

No fights have been announced for this year's card in Manila yet. It's unclear if Dodson, a Filipino-American, will be on the card.

The Philippines event in October will mark the first time the UFC will be back in Asia since it made its South Korea debut back in November. The UFC held three shows on the continent in 2015, but so far this one in Manila is the only one currently scheduled.
