A trio of belts will be up for grabs in August at CES MMA 37.

Officials announced three title fights, two of which are for vacant belts, for the Aug. 12 event, which airs on AXS TV from Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I.

In the headliner, reigning bantamweight champion Andre Soukhamthath (10-3) rematches challenger Kin Moy (10-3). The fighters first met in January 2014 at CES MMA 21, and Moy earned a unanimous-decision victory.

Since then, Soukhamthath is 3-1, which included a recent title-winning flying-knee knockout of Kody Nordby. Moy, meanwhile, is on a 3-1 run of his own, and it included a pair of recent submission wins (over Blair Tugman and Walter Smith-Cotito) under the Bellator banner.

“I’ve always been a good fighter, but I’ve improved so much since my first fight with Kin,” Soukhamthath stated. “I’m on a whole ‘nother level right now, mentally and physically, and it’s going to be really hard for anyone to stop me. There’s no way I’m leaving Twin River Casino without that belt around my waist.”

Also on the card, Bellator and CES MMA vet Matt Bessette (19-7) and submission specialist Pedro Gonzalez (11-5) both carry four-fight winning streaks into their co-headliner. The vacant featherweight title is up for grabs.

Additionally, Ashley Gooch (9-4) and Greg Rebello (20-6), who have combined for 18 knockouts in 29 career wins, fight for the vacant heavyweight belt.

Additional matchups will be announced in the coming weeks.

The latest CES MMA 37 card includes:
Champ Andre Soukhamthath vs. Kin Moy – for bantamweight title
Matt Bessette vs. Pedro Gonzalez – for vacant featherweight title
Ashley Gooch vs. Greg Rebello – for vacant heavyweight title

Cervantes, a New Mexico-based fighter who’s bounced around the West Coast regional circuit, makes his promotional debut with four decision wins in six career victories since his 2014 pro debut. He suffered a submission loss to Kyle Reyes (10-4) in his most recent bout.

Joe Pingitore now meets Matt Bessette for vacant 145 title at CES MMA 37

The promotional brass almost certainly will be glad to put CES MMA 37 behind them after Friday night, but the show is going on.

In the new co-main event, Joe Pingitore (6-2-1) gets a shot at a title when he meets Matt Bessette (19-7) for the vacant featherweight belt, the promotion today announced. Pingitore gets the call in place of Stephen Cerventes (6-1), who was arrested this past Friday for two counts each of criminal sexual penetration and criminal sexual contact of a minor, according to court records obtained by the Albuquerque Journal.

CES MMA 37 takes place Friday at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I. The main card airs on AXS TV.

Pingitore was slated to fight Bill Jones (12-10) on the card, but now moves up to the title fight in the co-feature. Jones will remain on the card, but a new opponent has not yet been determined.

Pingitore has won back-to-back fights and is 4-0-1 in his career under the CES MMA banner. In March, he stopped Taylor Trahan with a third-round TKO at CES MMA 33, and in June 2015, he snapped a two-fight skid with a decision over James Grant Murrin at CES MMA 29. Prior to that, he was submitted in back-to-back fights by Trahan and Darrion Caldwell, the latter of which took place at Bellator 118.

“This is the biggest fight of my career by far,” Pingitore stated. “When I started with CES, the goal was to get that title. That’s why I jumped at it when Matt’s opponent backed out. He’s been exposed that he’s mortal, just like the rest of us. That’s why I know this fight isn’t going to go five rounds. All it’s going to take is one heavy right hand and the title is mine. He’s had his reign at the top. Now it’s my time.”

Bessette has won four straight fights, all by stoppage. He has fought both for Bellator and CES MMA the past three years. At Bellator 144 this past October, he submitted Kevin Roddy with a first-round heel hook. Then he got Taurean Bogguess with a triangle choke at CES MMA 33 in March. In April, he returned to Bellator and got a second-round TKO of Keith Richardson. And in June, he tapped “TUF” veteran Ran Weathers at CES MMA 36 with a first-round guillotine choke.

CES MMA 37 also suffered a tragedy over the weekend when Devin Carrier (1-1) was killed in a car accident. He was expected to face Connor Barry (1-0) on the unaired preliminary card. The promotion will honor Carrier on Friday with a moment of silence.

The CES MMA 37 card now includes:
