It took a long time, but the moment has finally arrived – someone tweeted something in the MMA space that turned out not to be true.
“I just had a 2nd person tell me that Brock Lesnar is back in the USADA testing pool,” wrote

I just had a 2nd person tell me that Brock Lesnar is back in the USADA testing pool. Rumor around WWE is Brock is dropping the belt at SS.

While Lesnar may or may not be dropping the belt at Summer Slam, he is emphatically not in the USADA testing pool. Six months in the testing pool is necessary in order to compete in the UFC again for fighters that retire. Lesnar’s last fight he avoided the requirement as he left the UFC before the advent of USADA, and he ended up failing a PED test, but the results came back after he defeated Mark Hunt.

Lesnar was suspended for a year for that failure, and he has to be in the USADA testing pool during that period. However, he is not, so should he want to come back, he has to notify the UFC in writing, and then enter the USADA testing pool which will restart the clock on the one-year suspension.
It’s not happening.

UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky told John Morgan (https://twitter.com/MMAjunkieJohn) for MMAjunkie (http://vault/mmajunkie.com/2017/07/brock-lesnar-ufc-return-rumors-usada-testing-pool-jeff-novitzky) there is “zero truth” to Lesnar entering the testing pool.

“[Lesnar] is not currently enrolled in the USADA testing pool, nor has there been any inquiry on his part to do so.”
So Brock Lesnar remains one of the biggest draws in combat sports, but he is not returning to mixed martial arts.
