A second Bellator grand prix tournament will kick off later this year, this time in the welterweight division.

Promotion officials today told LATimes.com that an eight-man welterweight tournament will kick off Sept. 29 at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. The main card for the event is expected to air on Paramount.

Opening-round matchups are not yet set, but contestants confirmed for the field include Paul Daley (40-16-2 MMA, 6-3 BMMA), Michael Page (13-0 MMA, 9-0 BMMA) and as ex-champs Douglas Lima (29-7 MMA, 11-3 BMMA) and Andrey Koreshkov (20-2 MMA, 11-2 BMMA).

Current Bellator 170-pound champion Rory MacDonald (20-4 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) will also compete on the card, but not as part of the tournament. The Canadian will move up to the middleweight division to challenge champion Gegard Mousasi (44-6-2 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) before joining the tournament likely in 2019.

Also set for the event is a fourth matchup between former UFC light heavyweight champ Quinton Jackson (37-13 MMA, 4-2 BMMA) and longtime rival Wanderlei Silva (35-13-1 MMA, 0-1 BMMA).
