Danny Williams has landed his dream bout with a world heavyweight title crack at the World Boxing Council champion Vitali Klitschko.
Williams's manager Frank Warren said yesterday that a deal had been reached for the pair to meet in America in December.
The Brixton 31-year-old set his sights on Klitschko straight after pulling off something of an upset with his fourth-round win against Mike Tyson in Louisville, Kentucky.
"This is my reward for beating Tyson," he said. "After nearly 10 years as a professional I have finally got my chance at a world title and I am totally focused on bringing the crown back to Britain. It will be a hard fight but I destroyed the myth of Tyson and I will do the same again."
The Ukrainian giant, who had previously suffered a controversial cuts defeat by Lennox Lewis, is regarded as the true champion in a fragmented division.
He said: "I am very happy that Danny Williams is my next opponent. It was always my dream to fight Tyson but now Danny has destroyed that with a great performance. I know this will be a very tough fight for me. It's much easier to win a title than defend it."
The date and venue for the contest are due to be announced next week, with Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York's Madison Square Garden in the running.
