Hello, we are arranging an event called The Cage Vol.1: "First Time in Finland"
which will take place in Helsinki on the 2nd of October this year. The event
will be the first of its kind in Finland to be held in a Cage.
Due to injuries and cancellations we are lacking opponents for two fighters:
Mika Ilmen and Miika Mehmet.
Here is some general information about the event:
Name: The Cage Vol.1: "First Time in Finland"
Date: Saturday October 2nd, 2004
Rules: Standard UFC rules without elbow strikes, rounds are 3x5 minutes
Weigh-in: Friday evening, October 1st
Fights start: Saturday 18.00
Here is some information on the fighters that we need opponents for:
Name: Mika Ilmen
Category: Light Heavyweight (-93 kg)
MMA Record: 3-7-0
Info: Mika has had some success in Submission Wrestling. He competed in the ADCC
world championships last year, but lost a decision to Jeff Monsen.
Name: Miika Mehmet
Category: Heavyweight (+93 kg)
MMA Record: 1-1-0
Info: Miika's last fight was in Finnfight 4 in 2000 where he won on a TKO
against Petri Kapulainen. After taking a long break in competing, Miika is
making a comeback in our event.
We will obviously pay for the travel expenses of the fighters + coach and
provide accomodation at a hotel. In addition Mika Ilmen's opponent receives a
purse of 1000 euros in cash for taking the fight. Miika Mehmet's opponent will
receive a purse of 500 euros.
