This is the first time we have promoted at the Royal Armouries. It is always hard promoting in a new venue, but the night went well and there was a packed out crowd.

Thanks to the staff at Royal Armouries and also to everyone involved - spectators and supporters, fighters and their gyms, all the officials and Paul Hennessy at Showsport for helping to make this such a successful event.

Bout 1
Alessio (Bad Company) v Darran Dowdall (Ireland) 3x2
DRAW
This was Allessio's first fight. He stepped in at short notice after Chris Stead pulled out due to injury. It was a big challenge to Allesio as he is still a beginner.
The fight was fast and furious, with Allessio getting off to a good start by putting Darran down for an 8 count in the first with a well times left hook. Darran did well to recover and put the pressure on for the next to rounds to force a draw.
This was a great way to start the evening with both lads giving it their all.

Bout 2
Charlotte Webster (Bad Company) v Trish Carson (Caledonian) 3x2
CHARLOTTE WEBSTER WON ON POINTS
This was a more controlled fight than the first one with both girls looking to pick their shots well. Both seemed to have a similar style working behind the 1-2 and using the body kick to score.
Throughout the fight Charlotte seemed to get her range better and get her shots in first to win a clear victory.

Bout 3
Mark Wainer (Ireland) v Eric Dicarriere (Sitnarong) 3x2
ERIC DICARRIER WON BY KO
This fight hardly got going before it was over with Eric landing a beautiful knee to put Mark out for the count.

Bout 4
Dave Roberts (Bad Company) v Dean Powell (Zenkutsu-Ryu Coventry) 3x2
DAVE ROBERTS WON BY HEAD KICK KO ROUND 2
We had seen Dean fight before and expected him to come out al guns blazing. However he put is a very controlled and measured performance picking his shots well.
Dave scored with some great kicks but Dean did well to see some of them coming and catch them putting Dave down a couple of times.
The first was pretty even with Dave winning early on but Dean putting on the pressure later in the round.
The second started with Dean trying to do more of the same, but Dave used his kicks and movement well.
Half way through the round he turned Dean nicely on the ropes and landed an excellent stunning right hand. He saw that he had hurt Dean and piled ion the pressure causing referee Tony Myers to step in and give a count.

Dean recovered well and tried to get back into the fight but Dave stepped back and created space well to land a superb kick to the face which dropped Dean who could not beat the count.
A great performance from Dave over a much improved opponent.

Bout 5
Paul Pranske (Kao Loi) v David Harris (Darlington) 5x2
DAVID HARRIS WON ON POINTS
David had a weight advantage for this fight but Paul (Wurzel) had more experience to make up for it.
I did not see the fight but understand it was very even with Harris edging ahead in the later rounds.

Bout 6
Steve Rutherford (Bad Company) v Kees Vergouwen (Team Dekker) 5x2
STEVE RUTHERFORD WON ON POINTS
The Pitbull is back!
This was a war from start to finish. Kees is a very strong fighter and was dangerous with everything he threw. He tried to put Steve under pressure from the opening bell. Steve responded with some sharp boxing and low kicks, snapping Kees' head back a couple of times and landing some good low kicks.
Kees came back well in the second with a constant pressure style that had Steve fighting for his life at times! This kind of fight is Pitbull territory though and he came back with pressure of his own.
The fight swung backwards and forwards with Steve scoring a standing 8 count in the 4th with an excellenT flurry of boxing combinations that caused Kees to turn his back.

Bout 7
Jordan Watson (Bad Company) v Mark Howie (Darlington) 5x2
JORDAN WATSON WON ON POINTS
The atmosphere for this fight was fantastic. Both guys did great entrances and excellent Ram Muays which entertained the crowd. This fight was 2 young lads with loads of ability showing just what we are capable of in the UK and how much our sport has progressed over recent years.
Jordan is still only 16 and has not yet found his full power or confidence in his ability. Howie started off trying to impose himself but Jordan stayed calm and used his mobvement and push-kick to excellent effect to keep controll. For me, while Mark threw more techniques, in the earlier rounds Jordans were that bit more accurate and effective.

Mark is much taller than Jordan which made the task hard for him.Jordan threw a number of beautiful high point kicks which are all the more impressive considering Marks height!
Mark put more pressure on in the 4th and looked to go forward into the clinch all the time. Jordan fought back hard and the fight was toe to toe. As Jordan started to tire, Mark seemed to get stronger and he took control in the later rounds. The fight never lost its intensity

Both guys were tired at the final bell and after a tense wait for the decision Jordan was declared the winner. Mark and his team were disappointed at the decision, but the quality of the fight and the performance both lads put in are the important things and both fighters and gyms should be proud.
This will make a great rematch!

Bout 8
Liam Harrison (Bad Company) v Ait Said Aberderahman (Team Dekker) 5x3
LIAM HARRSION WON BY ko ROUND 2
Liam is fresh from his win in Japand a confident at the moment. AitSaid was a bit of an unknown quantity but Liam had had to step up in weight fior this fight. Liam normal weight is 60kg but the fight was made at 62. AitSaid actually came in at 63.5kg.
AitSaid was actually Lee Chesters intended opponent, until Lee pulled out.
Ait Said started pretty quickly, looking to impose himelf. He had an awkward style and moved in and out and round quickly and threw one or two awkward jumping knees from early on.
This opponent was again much taller and Liam had to fight defensively at first to get to grips with him.

Liam was very relaxed in the first, taking the awkwardness in his stride and biding his time until he had sussed AitSaid out.

By the second he started to open up a bit and got his opponents measure. He threw some dangerous looking punches and one or two elbows that just missed.
He bagan to use his left hand and scored the first knockdown with a stiff jab! AitSaid did well to beat the count but was not really fit to contiue. Liam was still patient and did not jump in, but seemed to have an effect every time he landed a punch.
Referee Tony Myers stopped the fight aftre 3 knockdowns.

Bout 10
Andy Howson (Bad Company) v Eoghan Murphy (Ireland) 5x3
ANDY HOWSON WON BY HEAD KICK TKO ROUND 4
Andy is just starting to find his confidence as a fighter and started well scoring with some fast kicks to the body that began to mark Eoghan's body from the start. He struggled to find his range with his hands but clearly won the opening rounds, having Eoghan in trouble a couple of times.
In the fourth he started to get through with some of his boxing and forced a standing 8 count.
He then doubled up a right roundhose kick going body to head and the second kkick caught Eoghan on the neck causing him to turn away injured and retire himself from the fight.
This was good win for Andy over a tough gutsy opponent.

Bout 10
Richard Cadden (Bad Company) v Sel Selder (Team Dekker) 5x3
RICHARD CADDEN WON BY ELBOW KO ROUND 1
We didnt know much about Sel Selder either but knew that he was a power fighter who liked to look for big punches. He turned out to be a southpaw, which as Richards last opponent was Matthew Johnson was not too much of a problem. Cadden started easy and used his movement to not alow Sel to set himself. The fight went to the clinch fairly early and it came clear that Caddens clinching ability was better than his opponents.
Richard tried a few elbows that narrowly missed but scored well with the knee.
About half way through the round the fight went to the clinch again as Sel tried to close the distance to score with his hands. Cadden cleverly used his grip to make a space and landed a perfect right chopping elbow to drop Sel who failed to beat the count.
This is exactly the way that Richard won his last fight in the first round! Deja Vu!
Well done to Richard who has put ina lot of work lately and made a number of improvements to his game!

There was a charity commection on the night for Mercy UK. Over £200 was raised. Thanks to all that generously donated.

The show was a total sell out - people were turned away at the door, and the atmosphere was incredible in the hall. All the fights were excellent. Thanks to everyione who helped, the staff at Royal Armouries, all the Bad Company Team of helpers, The fighters and their trainers and the supporters.
