Robbie Lawler vs Evan Tanner

Round 1:

Some short exchanges, nothing connected, feeling eachother out. Tanner lands nice right, and lawler nods. Missed shots from both sides, bouncing in and out. Clinch and lawler picks up tanner and slams. Tanner looks like he has a armbar, but lawler got out, now switched to triangle... lawler taps. Tanner by Triangle.

Trigg vs Verissimo

Round 1:

Clinch and some knees, Trigg is landing good knees while holding a body lock. Clinched and up against cage, still standing. Charuto goes for double leg takedown while trigg against fence. Trigg tried to throw bombs, but Charuto counter and hit Trigg. Trigg panicked and shot in and took down Charuto. Trigg in Charuto's guard, against fence. Charuto goes for armbar, switch to leg lock, and Trigg counters by landing some good shots. Charuto allmost has triangle, Trigg powers out, and is consattantly hitting Charuto while he is attemping these subs. Now standing. Trigg hammered him there. Now striking... Trigg hits charuto with a nice shot, and then takes him down. Charuto is going for lots of subs, now has triangle, looks tight, Trigg is trying to get out...WOW!! POWERS OUT. He looked 100% done. Now iin guard, but Trigg is very tired after that. Charuto is constantly looking for subs. Pace has now slowed....

Round 1 over.

Round 2:

Charuto goes for double leg takedown. Trigg against fence, defending takedown. Now standing and Trigg has bodylock... break and now both throwing punches, each getting ROCKED... but Trigg got the better with a nice punch and stunned Charuto. Lots of elbows to the back/side of Charuto's head. Ref Warned Charuto that he might stop it. Charuto looks very tired and winded. Trigg is constantly hitting him. ELBOW, ELBOW, ELBOW by trigg.... its over, ref stoppage.

Hughes vs. St. Pierre

St. Pierre shoots and takes Hughes down with a single leg...
Hughes stand back up - both fighters back on their feet.
Both fighters throwing jabs.
StP throws legkick
StP bouncing and being evasive
Hughes charges, underhooking, going for double-leg against fence
HUGHES gets single leg and SLAMS StP against fence!

Hughes working body punches against fence
Both fighters stood back up and meet in the middle again
StP spinning backkick into Hughes but did not hurt.
Hughes throwing front kick
StP misses with combo
Hughes getting ready to shoot
Hughes going for double leg
StP against fence
Hughes gets double leg
Hughes passes guard of StP and has side guard

Hughes controlling
StP in half-guard
Hughes throwing HARD left punches
Hughes gets ARM BAR AND IT IS OVER

Frykland is stunned but expected to escape
Evan has mount and is working right punches - going for submission
Sinks choke
Choke stopped
Frykland in trouble in key lock
Frykland taps

Awesome submission Evan - happened very fast
Frykland is pissed & pounding canvas and his back is hurt.
He's still laying on the canvas - he's hurt.
Evan did great!

Ik was niet onder de indruk van Tito, hij liep zelfs nog tegen een hoek op waarop ie bijna neerging, verder heeft ie de wedstrijd gedomineerd maar kon het niet af maken, de fluitconcertjes waren niet van de lucht...:)

Leukste partij was toch wel weer Marvin Eastman, die weer 's heerlijk zwaar ko ging!

Matt Hughes won met een supermove, schitterende armklem!

Maar de mooiste sub was van Ivan Salaverry, die Tony Fryklund in een rugklem (?)zette!

Al met al weer een leuk toernooi, maar haalde het niet bij UFC49!

Het was inderdaad geen topper, maar er zaten toch ook wel leuke partijen bij...Er ontbraken alleen een hoop grote namen...

Dat was idd wel onverwacht. Damn, met 1 stoot werd de kickbokser eruit geslagen... vol achterover :shock: .
