A special attraction of the live show will be a light heavyweight battle between UFC legend and Hall of Fame member Ken Shamrock and fast-rising UFC star Rich Franklin
The middleweight and light heavyweight finalists for The Ultimate Fighter will be determined on the last regular telecast of the series, which airs at 11 p.m. EDT on Monday on Spike TV.
Shamrock (26-8-2 in mixed martial arts) from San Diego, Calif., is coming off a first-round knockout of Kimo last June 19 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. “The World’s Most Dangerous Man is recognized as one of the world’s top mixed martial arts fighters and was selected one of the two charter members, along with Royce Gracie, of the UFC Hall of Fame in December 2003.
Franklin (18-1-0) is recognized as one of the UFC’s most well-rounded fighters. In his last UFC fight, the unassuming high school math teacher from Cincinnati, Ohio, defeated highly-rated Jorge Rivera by tap out from a powerful arm bar in October in Atlantic City, N.J.
Look for UFC’s reality television show The Ultimate Fighter at 11 p.m. EST each Monday on Spike TV. Follow 16 fighters as they train, workout and live together. At the end of each week, one fighter from each of the two teams must fight in the OctagonÃâ€* to avoid being kicked out of the UFC Training Centerâ„¢ until only two remain in each of the two weight divisions. In the end, The Ultimate Fighterâ„¢ will be decided by a competition match -- a head-to-head fight to the finish inside the Octagon.
