Jones and Tarver set for decider

Roy Jones Jr will return to the ring on 1 October when he meets fellow American Antonio Tarver for a third time.
Jones won their first bout in 2003 only to lose the rematch in 2004, Tarver knocking out his rival to become undisputed light heavyweight champion.

Jones, who has lost just three of his 49 bouts, has not fought since Glen Johnson knocked him out in September.

Tarver, with 20 wins from 23 fights, won his last fight, a rematch against Johnson, in June.

The fight is expected to be held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the site of the first two fights.

Tarver, Jones to fight rubber match in October
By Dan Rafael

Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones Jr., rivals since their days as standout amateurs in Florida and 1-1 in memorable fights against each other as pros, are going to settle their personal score with a rubber match.

Tarver and Jones signed Wednesday to meet Oct. 1 on HBO PPV. Tarver, although without a major sanctioning organization belt, will defend his Ring magazine light heavyweight title, which recognizes him as the world's No. 1 fighter at 175 pounds.

"We have a fight. It's huge," Tarver promoter Joe DeGuardia said. "I think it's a tremendous fight, one of those rivalries that we don't get to see that often in boxing. They are few and far between: Ali-Frazier, Leonard-Hearns. Gatti-Ward. Some trilogies stand out for the ages and Roy will forever be linked with Tarver and vice versa.

"These are the biggest fights of both of their careers. They just have that link. They've had a rivalry since they were teenagers and it was simmering for all those years and when it finally came to head it produced a trilogy in the span of three years."

The fight will probably be at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, which hosted their first two meetings. Other possible sites are Atlantic City, Portland, Ore., and Connecticut casinos Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods.

"There's always an excitement in a trilogy and a rubber match," said Brad Jacobs, Jones' adviser. "There's no question that since Roy left the ring on May 15, 2004 [after the second fight] he's been targeting Tarver for a rubber match. Roy has had sufficient time off to recuperate and relax. His goals are now squarely on Tarver's chin."

Considering the magnitude of the fight, it came together quickly and relatively easily.

Tarver and Jones each were in the running to fight Bernard Hopkins this fall but that was before Hopkins unexpectedly lost the undisputed middleweight title to Jermain Taylor on July 16. With Hopkins headed for a Dec. 3 rematch against Taylor, Tarver and Jones had nowhere else to turn but each other for a big payday.

Another reason for the fast negotiation -- they only started talking after the Hopkins loss -- is because critical pay-per-view industry advertising deadlines for October events are this week.

The sides negotiated through the weekend on issues big and small, but reached an accord on the central issue of money: They will split all revenue 50-50. Tarver had hoped for a higher percentage, figuring that as the recognized champion who won their rematch by knockout, he deserved more. Ultimately, he took parity.

"Antonio feels he should be getting the lion's share but he was willing to capitulate to certain terms," DeGuardia said. "Like Roy, Antonio has a lion's heart and sometimes things go beyond money. Although the fight will generate huge money, the reality is they still have this drive and desire to shut the other one up. I think that is fueling it."

Following Jones' heavyweight title victory against John Ruiz in March 2003, he was negotiating a fight with Evander Holyfield. But when those talks fell apart, Jones agreed to return to light heavyweight to face Tarver, who had been calling him out for years.

It was the toughest fight of Jones' career but he eked out a majority decision in November 2003 in a fight that many felt that Tarver won. Jones (49-3, 38 KOs) blamed his dramatic weight loss for the lethargic performance. So they met again in May 2004 and Tarver (23-3, 18 KOs) scored a shocking one-punch knockout in the second round.

Jones went on to lose his next fight last September, this time another brutal knockout at the hands of Glen Johnson. Jones hasn't fought since but has quietly pined for another crack at Tarver.

Tarver, meanwhile, lost to a split decision to Johnson last December before gaining revenge in their rematch last month.

"The reality is I have to compliment Roy for getting the fight done," DeGuardia said. "It shows a lot of his courage and desire and the true fight in him, which people have questioned over the years. Roy has found the guy who can test him in Tarver and he is still willing to go after him."

Although Jones' skills have deteriorated over the past couple of years, his attempt to come back against a premier opponent in Tarver figures to make for a compelling promotion.

"Tarver-Jones III is not just for the light heavyweight championship," said HBO PPV boss Mark Taffet. "It's for the championship of Jones and Tarver, something that will resonate with boxing fans."

Their first fight generated 302,000 pay-per-view buys while their rematch generated 380,000, which is 20,000 more than HBO initially reported.

Is Roy Jones Jr. Biting Off More than He Can Chew?
By Chris Robinson (July 30, 2005)

http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Media/Jones03_BIG_Hogan.jpg
I can't deny that I was both excited and worried when I heard the news of a possible rubber match between Roy Jones Jr. and Antonio Tarver. Excited because Jones is one of my favorite fighters of all time and I was hoping somewhere deep within he would find a way to leave the fight game on top. Worried because Roy has lost back to back fights by devastating knockouts and appears to be a shell of the fighter he once was. Going up against Tarver, the man who starched him in May of last year, appears to be a deadly game in itself but like they say, 'The show must go on' and come October 1st it looks as though we will be treated to Tarver-Jones III on HBO Pay Per View.

This is a move by Jones that was unexpected from my viewpoint and if the two Light Heavyweights do meet up in center ring it will be over a year since Jones has last laced up the gloves. People can talk badly about Jones until the sun comes up but the bottom line is that he was a champion, a great one at that, and the fire seems to be back inside him. Going up against Tarver, who convincingly defeated Glen Johnson last month, looks to be a mountain too steep to climb for the Pensacola native but maybe he knows something we don't.

As a Jones fan, I have admired him and stood up for him over the years. As his career started I wasn't the biggest of fans, but I found myself in awe of his talent over and over again and was won over by his charisma and talent. He truly did become one to root for and come October 1st, if everything goes through, I will once again be rooting for him. The situation seems bleak and I have to favor Tarver, but for whatever reasons I can't count Roy out. Maybe it's just the fan in me, but I want to see a great champion have one more great night. You never know, this is boxing after all.

Say it ain’t so, Roy
The Neutral Corner by Jason Probst (July 31, 2005)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.maxboxing.com/Media/royjones_Main.jpg
With news of the Roy Jones-Antonio Tarver rubber match being signed, The Corner feels like boxing was invariably going to start making matchups based on money instead of merit. The sport was doing great in recent months with Jose Luis Castillo-Diego Corrales, and Erik Morales versus Marco Antonio Barrera and Manny Pacquiao. But Jones-Tarver III just feels like a train wreck waiting to happen.

It’s because even Ray Charles could see that Jones’ reflexes are gone, which makes him sort of like a gunfighter with no bullets. Theoretically you can still beat someone with an empty gun, but Jones never really had the temperament for that kind of handiwork, which is why you always figured he wouldn’t end up walking on his heels and would be in good health when he was done with the game. A third match with Antonio Tarver makes that increasingly less likely.

Besides, what has Jones done to earn a title shot? Nothing. But then again, when you don’t hold any major belts, you can’t be stripped of them either, as is Tarver’s enviable position. However, The Ring magazine is in an interesting position here. What if some other Tarver-like challenger emerges and Tarver won’t fight him (just a theoretical, not like Tarver wouldn’t). How long do you deign someone the champion without rules and clear delineations of merit among challengers? Certainly Jones can pass a freebie for now. Everyone’s gotta make a buck. But really, it’s a gross mismatch and everything you needed to know about Roy Jones happened in the first Tarver-Jones fight. He sucked it up. Got the win. He doesn’t need to go back to that neighborhood again, because he’s not even the fighter he was then.

Glen Johnson is an all-aggression pressure fighter without much power, decent but unblinding speed, and a completely basic attack hinged on volume and closing the gap. That’s a guy that should be tailor made for Jones, yet Roy cannot cope with even that simpler style these days. Johnson’s lack of power actually made it worse by extending the beating.

Tarver a 50/50 Split for the Rubber-Match
By Mike Casile (August 2, 2005)

http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Media/Tarver02_BIG_Hogan.jpg

Joe DeGuardia, promoter for Antonio Tarver, has confirmed that a third Jones-Tarver fight will take place Oct. 1st on PPV. Although Tarver is seriously unhappy with the 50/50 split of revenues with Jones, DeGuardia has stated that both men really want this fight. Jones wants to prove he can still be a factor, after being knocked out cold by Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson. Tarver just wants another opportunity to do it again after his easy defeat of Glen Johnson in their rematch.

The heavyweight division is at an all time low, if you are counting ratings, and PPV totals, like the heavyweight title matches in April promoted by Don King that brought in a measly 75,000 viewers. If this fight turns out to be something that is worth watching, maybe one or both of these guys could move up, and wake up a lackluster heavyweight division. When Lennox Lewis retired, he joined Rocky Marciano and Gene Tunney as the only fighters to retire as champions, but he also left a gaping hole, with no real talent on the heavyweight horizon. Roy Jones or Antonio Tarver could be the savior that’s needed to band aid the heavyweight division, until some younger talent arises.

In the meantime, the boxing gods are not smiling in Roy Jones favor. He is going to fight a man that beat him two times (the first fight should have went Tarver’s way), and he has not been active in over year. To compound matters, the last time he was active, he was put to sleep by journeyman tough guy Glen Johnson, whom by the way, was just truly handled by Tarver in a big way. This is the biggest fight of Roy Jones career, because if he does not put up in this fight, he will not get the draw desired by the PPV heavyweight promoters. Sure, he will get the novelty numbers if he chooses to fight giants over 250 lbs, but that wears off quickly in the boxing world. It’s not enough to say you’re the best pound for pound based on what you did, in boxing it’s all about what you are doing, and where you are willing to go in the future. Well, the future is here, and it’s time to see who is going to show up.

Roy Jones Jr. Speaks On Tarver Bout
By Presser (Aug 3, 2005)
http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Media/Jones04_Big_Hogan.jpg

One of the most anticipated bouts in the world of boxing has been arranged: coming out of retirement world champion Roy Jones Jr. will face Antonio Tarver in what could become one of the most explosive fights in the history of boxing and the third and final fight of the next legendary boxing trilogy.
Legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr. (49-3, 38 KOs) doesn't mince on words and he's got a few things to say and his words sure add a lot of weight to his image. “Look, said Roy Jones Jr. in a heartfelt interview with High Roller magazine “those guys (Tarver and Johnson) fought an amazing fight against each other the other night, but nobody cares. No offense but the truth is the truth. No one wants to see them do that again, it’s just not interesting. They were practically giving those tickets away at the end of the night. The people want to see them fight Roy Jones Jr. It’s about what people will pay to see, all about the money.

Jones defeated Tarver in a close decision in November 2003. Tarver (23-3, 18 KOs) avenged the loss with a second-round knockout of Jones six months later.

Why a third fight against Antonio Tarver?

“(In our last fight) the guy simply got a lucky punch, which just happens sometimes. This guy, Tarver, has to define himself against me. Without me, no one would even know who he is… he's struggling to eclipse me and use me to try to become somebody… but I'll just do what I do, stated Jones.

Is Roy Jones Jr. mentally prepared to fight Tarver?

You know, fighting Johnson after Hurricane Ivan was a huge risk that didn't work out. When you go into a tough fight, you have to put everything away and out of your mind: your family, your friends, everything. Everything has to be secondary. Two weeks before the fight, the hurricane destroyed my hometown and we were living off a generator and my mind was everywhere but training and fighting said Jones Jr. “That's no excuse, that's just the way it was, he added.

“(I will train) about 3 months this time and I might do some work with my dad this time… I just know me, I know if I'm focused and motivated I can walk through whoever I want … (including Tarver), said Jones. “I am a warrior, one of God’s game roosters.

Read the provocative statements of what many consider the best pound-for-pound fighter in the history of boxing, Roy Jones Jr. in this unique and exclusive interview conceded to High Roller Magazine

It’s all about Roy Jones Jr.
By Rob Scott (August 5, 2005)

http://www.doghouseboxing.com/media/JonesJr_Big_HBO.jpg

In many businesses nowadays employers like to offer early retirement incentives. We all know that the premise for their ‘out with the old and in with the new’ proposal is one based on the prospect of paying new in-coming workers lower wages than that of veteran workers; but at the same time, it is an offer that would enable older workers to go out and enjoy life and what life has to offer. Boxing’s early retirement incentive is the increased prospect of serious injury if a fighter remains in the game; an elongated stay in the sport would inevitably prevent fighters from enjoying life’s offerings.

The problem with fighters and the average everyday Joe is they have put so much into their jobs that they don’t have a clue how to do anything other what they have done – work. An alarming amount of retirees just shrivel up and literally die because life after work, to them, is actually no life at all.

The return of Roy Jones Jr. has had many scratching their head and asking the question, Why? With his promotional company, his record label and his on-air dates with HBO, one would think that the 36-year-old Jones would have plenty to occupy his mind as well as his time during his hiatus from active competition. So then why not turn his in-ring hiatus into something permanent?

Maybe the limelight is the magnet that is attracting him to make the return to the ring; it does have a pull that many fighters have found impossible to resist. To that, a definite truth is there; but it’s one that is not so much of him wanting that supposed limelight back, but of how his limelight was instantly dimmed. The thrill is gone, and how that thrill was taken away has definitely hampered his hiatus.

You can see it when he covers the fights for HBO; he is like a person who has an angel on one shoulder saying to be humble and a devil on the other trying to bring out that old boastful Roy Jones. The problem is, after being knocked out in his last two outings, the boasts have been more like a dog whose bark is worse than his bite.

He was no dictator, but his fall from grace is like that of Saddam Hussein where the ex-Iraqi leader ruled his land with an iron fist, only to be diminished to living in a hole in the ground. Now we definitely know Jones isn’t living in any hole, but his iron fisted rule was definitely taken away with those back-to-back knockout losses in ‘04 to Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson – and a hole would have been a good place for him to hide his shock, anger and disappointment.

Now I’m only making the comparison between Jones and Hussein because of the head trips that both must be going through. Going from point A to point Z or crashing to the ground after living so high is something that is indeed boggling their minds. How they were taken out of power has left both dumfounded.

Saddam Hussein doesn’t have the ability to confront the new powers that be and turn back time, but Jones has the chance on October 1st at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino to reclaim his throne when he faces the universally recognized light heavyweight champion, and the man who originally knocked him from grace, Antonio Tarver in a rubber match. It’s his chance to redeem himself and then leave the sport more on his own terms – which is his true and ultimate goal. Being one that has always done things his way, it’s hard for him to accept anything less.

Throughout his career Jones has shown that he is a self satisfying fighter and what the fans think of him doesn’t overshadow what he feels for the third personed Roy Jones Jr. Make no mistake about it, he is his worst critic. This is for him. This is for self. He is determined to write his own final chapter. Whether it’s being domineering at the negotiation table or dominating inside the ring, it’s this mentality that has led to his return. It’s a mentality that will eventually leave him self-vindicated or self-vilified. Why is he making a return? It’s all about Roy Jones Jr.

NEW YORK, Monday, August 22 – It’s been almost 25 years since Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones Jr. crossed paths for the first time, and from their first fight as 13-year-old amateurs, they have been indelibly linked in the minds of boxing fans and each other. But on Saturday, October 1st, at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida, this journey comes to an end, as the two premier light heavyweights of this era meet for the third time to determine who the superior fighter truly is. “I have to commend Roy Jones for coming back and saying "I want Antonio Tarver, I want the best, said light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver. “He could have had the opportunity to come up and fight someone to pad his record or just to get fans excited, but he wants to come to the mountaintop to try to knock the king off.

In their first battle, on November 8, 2003, Jones won a hard fought decision over Tarver in a stirring 12 rounder; it was a verdict which split many boxing fans. But in their May 15, 2004 rematch, Tarver got revenge with a stirring second round knockout that was preceded by the now legendary pre-fight comment by "The Magic Man", “You got any excuses tonight, Roy? On October 1st, in a bout to be televised live on HBO Pay-Per-View (9pm ET / 6pm PT), there will be “No Excuses, and that’s just the way Tarver wants it. “Roy has come up and said this is it, this is all or nothing." And that’s what makes this fight interesting, said Tarver. “It’s no excuses. After October 1st, it will be what it will be.

And despite the decisive nature of the rematch result, Tarver is treating this fight and his opponent with the respect they deserve, because throughout boxing history there have been countless examples of great fighters still having one great performance left in them. “I’m not gonna sit here and tell you that I’m going in here and I can expect a knockout, said Tarver. “When I caught Roy, it was just one of those perfect punches that would have knocked anyone out. He is one of the all-time greats in this sport, and I am training as such. On October 1st, I’m expecting to face a prime Roy Jones at his best; I will not let up mentally in training one bit.

Tarver’s longtime trainer Buddy McGirt agrees.

“Our focus is clear in this fight, and my only worry is keeping Antonio OUT of the gym, said McGirt. “As soon as this fight was mentioned, Antonio and I began working on our game plan, and we’re ready for our toughest camp ever. Roy Jones Jr. is a dangerous fighter and to overlook him would be foolish. And even though Jones may have been a no-show at the recent press conferences to officially announce this highly anticipated bout, Tarver doesn’t see these absences as a sign of disrespect. To him, it’s a sign that Jones is preparing for the fight of his life. “Everyone knows I don’t mind talking to the media and being the center of attention, laughs Tarver. “I enjoy it, and its part of being a superstar in this game. So to me, Roy not showing up at the press conferences is a good thing because it shows me that he’s taking this fight very seriously, and that he is bringing his ‘A’ game on October 1st. He’s gonna need it, because I’m doing the same.

Tarver’s promoter, Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing, also believes that Jones’ press conference no-shows are a good sign for boxing fans.

“I know in my gut that Roy is training as hard, if not harder, than he ever has, said DeGuardia. “He has a warrior’s spirit, and it’s been tough for him to deal with losing to Antonio. The fact that Roy is already in camp, and that Antonio is already training with the intensity of a man who continues to itch for a fight with Roy Jones Jr. means this fight on October 1st is going to be one of the most memorable we’ve seen. In the end, for Tarver, his dedication to training and to winning the rubber match against Jones impressively comes down to one word – respect. He wants it by proving once and for all that the top light heavyweight of this era is The Magic Man".

“My motivation is that that I feel respect hasn’t been given to me, and that people have not seriously crowned me as a superstar in this game of boxing, said Tarver. “So I’ve got to stay motivated, and I got to stay hungry. On October 1st, it will be the end of one legend and the beginning of another.

Injury has fight in question

http://www.sptimes.com/2005/09/14/Sports/Injury_has_fight_in_q.shtml
Published September 14, 2005

Is the Oct.1 fight at the St. Pete Times Forum between Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones Jr. in jeopardy?

According to two boxing Web sites, Jones has a hand injury that could scuttle the light heavyweight fight, which ironically has been called "No Excuses."

One site, 15rounds.com claimed to have spoken with Roy Jones Sr. , who said his son was hurt while sparring Friday and has a knot on top of his right hand. Jones Sr. said his son went to the doctor's office Tuesday for an X-ray: "As of right now, he can hardly hit with that hand."

The rumors did not please Tarver.

"I don't care if he gets in the ring on crutches," Tarver said. "Whatever Roy Jones shows up, I plan on destroying him. I'm not complaining about my injuries. We're in the hurt business. So suck it up like a man and let's get ready to fight."

Roy Jones Jr' injury proves true
Former champ hurt preparing for third bout with Tarver

Rumors that Roy Jones Jr. has suffered a hand injury during training for his upcoming title bout against Antonio Tarver appeared to be confirmed by his actions during a charity basketball game Saturday night at Woodham High School.

Jones had no trouble dribbling with either hand but did grab his right wrist and grimaced in obvious pain when he fouled an opponent late in the third quarter. After the game, Jones accepted hand shakes and posed for photographs with fans but declined to sign autographs, citing pain in the hand.

Jones (49-3, 38 KOs) is scheduled to meet Tarver (23-3, 18 KOs) on Oct. 1 in the rivals' rubber match, a 12-round bout for Tarver's IBO light heavyweight title at the St. Pete Times Forum, in the backyard of Tarver, a Tampa native.

Jones' actions Saturday add fodder for critics who wonder if the former four-time world champion adequately can challenge or defend himself against Tarver, who told reporters in a conference call last Tuesday he will "destroy" Jones.

The Washington High School product has remained noticeably mum about his bout with Tarver 12 days from now but said Saturday he'll try to continue to get mentally tough.

"I love the contact now," said Jones, who according to a news release has no plans to participate in a Wednesday teleconference with the media. Roy Jones Sr., who again is training his son, and adviser Alton Merckerson are scheduled to field questions from reporters.

"I want to try and focus on having fun, then killing my opponent," Jones Jr. said Saturday. "I'm going to take my time. The reason I started boxing was to have fun in the ring."

Jones won the first meeting against Tarver by decision in November 2003.

Jones has lost his last two fights, including a stunning second-round knockout to Tarver in May 2004. Tarver landed only seven punches in the bout, but a left hand rocked Jones at 1:41 of the second round.

Four months later in Memphis, shortly after Hurricane Ivan, Jones lost to Glen Johnson in a shocking ninth-round knockout.

Gave poster trouwens Marco.

Roy may face deadly bout
Tim Smith, New York Daily News

Boxing is dangerous to begin with, but that isn't stopping Roy Jones Jr.
Leavander Johnson will be buried on Saturday in Atlantic City, eight days after paying the ultimate price for participating in his sport. Later in the day, Roy Jones Jr. will take on Antonio Tarver in Tampa, ostensibly to regain his status in the same sport.

The parallel of those two events disturbs me greatly. I remain saddened by Johnson being beaten to death in a sanctioned sporting event and Jones, who has been knocked out in his last two bouts, willingly putting himself in the same position for ... what? Pride? Money? Entertainment?

I don't understand why there was a need for Tarver-JonesIII. I saw everything I needed in the second match when Tarver knocked out Jones in the second round. It was as stunning a KO as the sport has ever seen. After Glen Johnson left Jones lying on the canvas with his arms folded across his chest like he was in a coffin for 24 minutes, I never wanted to see Jones in the ring again. That image keeps flashing in my mind. Now it seems ghoulish that people are actually tuning in to see Jones rendered unconscious again.

Humanity is lacking in boxing. What do you expect in a sport in which the purpose is to render your opponent unconscious? But when did common sense take a holiday?

Gerald McClellan was always the tragic barometer against which Jones measured his career. He didn't want to end up like McClellan, whose brain damage as a result of his match against Nigel Benn left him blind, mentally impaired and in a wheelchair. It was a frightening outcome for Jones and made him a "safety-first" boxer.

It didn't win Jones any fans among those whose heroes come wrapped in black and blue. I always admired Jones' athletic gifts in the ring. His quickness and speed made him hard to hit and gave him the ability to do things that no other boxer could conceive, let alone execute. But Jones is no longer that boxer. Yes, he can probably beat 80% of the guys out there, but Tarver is the best light heavyweight out there.

Sometime in the last year, the sight of McClellan has become less of a deterrent for Jones. Someone convinced the executives at HBO Pay-Per-View that a third match against Tarver was a good idea. It isn't. Never was. Of course Tarver thinks it is. He was fully conscious at the end of the last fight and he stands to make millions in a repeat performance.

It's an unnecessary three-peat. In light of Johnson's death, it is shameful disgrace. I will cover Jones-Tarver III. It is what I do. I'm not proud of that and I do so reluctantly.

Jones may get into the ring against Tarver and be masterful again. But I'm not going to say I was wrong or that I'm sorry for not wanting Jones in the ring again. I'm ashamed that I cover a sport in which humanity is lacking and common sense is on permanent vacation. Forgive me, but I never want to see another man killed in a boxing ring.

ANGRY AGAIN: James Toney, the angriest man in boxing, will take on Dominick Guinn in a heavyweight showdown on Saturday night on Showtime at about the same time as Jones-Tarver III. Toney-Guinn won't cost you anything extra if you have Showtime. Jones-Tarver III will cost $49.95 on HBO Pay-Per-View. It is Toney's first match since being suspended for 90 days for testing positive for steroids after his match against WBA champ John Ruiz in April at Madison Square Garden. Also on the card is an IBF heavyweight title match between champ Chris Byrd and DaVarryl Williamson....The boxing schedule in October and November is very busy in New York beginning on Friday, Oct. 7 with a show at Monticello Raceway. F.I.S.T. will hold its annual boxing show at the New York Hilton in Manhattan on Wednesday, Oct. 26. There's a show in Albany at the Washington Avenue Armory on Oct. 28 and on Oct. 29 at the Orange County Fairgrounds. In November there are two shows at the Manhattan Center (Friday, Nov. 4 and Thursday, Nov. 17) and a show at the Westchester County Center on Friday, Nov. 25....Eric Harding will take on Daniel Judah in a light heavyweight match at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 21. The winner is hoping to get in position to fight the winner of Tarver-Jones.
