MPD (Multiple personality disorder) Psycho is een Japanse detectiveserie van regisseur Takashi Miike die ik laatst op dvd heb gekocht. Ik vond het zo leuk dat ik de serie inmiddels al 2 keer heb bekeken. Niet voor iedereen denk ik maar sommige van jullie (in ieder geval Mendo en Wheelie :lol: ) zullen dit ook wel leuk vinden.

Detective Yousuke Kobayashi is on a case involving a series of brutal murders. When his very own girlfriend's dismembered body is mailed to him in a cooler, he is pushed over the edge: eventually tracking down the murderer and savagely killing him. During his murder trial he declares that his name is not Yousuke Kobayashi, but Kazuhiko Amamiya. Sentenced for murder, he is eventually diagnosed as suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder... However, it is only a matter of time until he is released back into the world to begin his detective work once more...

A sadistic criminal is turning his victims into human flower pots. Detective Kazuhiko Amamiya is called out of early returement to work on the case, which is tied to horrific events in his past. His new wife goes missing and a mysterious cult with barcodes tattooed on their eyeballs surfaces to wreak havoc on the city.
How To Create A World:
A brutal serial murderer cuts babies from their mothers' wombs. All of the women have barcodes tattooed on their eyeballs. The victims, under some sort of hypnosis, purchase the surgical quality knives used to kill them the day before their murders! As Amamiya's wife wanders the city in a trance, he discovers someone from his past is involved in the crime wave.
The Life Constructed In Double Spiral:
Chiaki Kuriyama (Kill Bill) guest stars in this episode, which finds Detective Amamiya and the police team investigating the mass suicide of forty high school girls. Amamiya goes undercover as a high school teacher to find out why and learn more about a new generation of barcode carrying humans, many of whom are students.
Smashed Ants:
Perfectly severed body parts with numbers cut into them are discovered in a field. In a nearby arcade, tow rival gangs battle each other and Amamiya's wife is taken prisoner by a gang leader. The Police chief tries to uncover Amamiya's hidden past with the help of a one-eyed snuff director.
Coronation Of The Cursed King:
Cult members spontaneously combust when the barcode network is infected. The burn victims are taken to the local hospital where a lonely employee's cyber-girlfriend tells them to kill people. Detective Amamiya and his team lock down the hospital, while strange things happen on the secret 13th floor.
Ascension Of Spirits And Bonds Of Mankind:
The police department denies that the barcode case ever existed in a massive cover-up attempt. The Police Chief's entire family dies under mysterious circumstances. Amamiya tracks the baby-stealer to a remote cabin in a snowstorm for a final showdown to recover his own missing child.
Totaal bizar en daardoor erg vermakelijk. De regisseur is bekend van Ichi the killer. Een film die ik halverwege heb uitgezet vanweg het hoge gehalte aan zelfverminking, marteling en een scene waarbij een meisje helemaal total loss werd geslagen. Door MPD Psycho ben ik echter toch enthousiast over Takashi Miike en ik ben van plan om meer films van hem te gaan bekijken.

Japanse science fiction over een groep lastige schoolkinderen in de tienerleeftijd die door de staat naar een eiland worden gestuurd met de opdracht om elkaar te vermoorden. Degene die overblijft is de winnaar en mag blijven leven. Het gaat er in deze films ook bepaald niet zachtzinnig aan toe. De kinderen hebben o.a. een band met explosieven om de nek die afgaat als er een overtreding wordt gepleegd en regelmatig explodeert er dan ook een hoofd. Ook maken ze elkaar in hoog tempo op wrede wijze af. Heftig geweld afgewisseld met droevige sterfscenes van deze 'zielige' kindertjes in schooluniform.
Azumi I en II
De eerste 5 minuten of zo dacht ik nog dat het een soort van kinderfilm zou blijken te zijn maar van het ene moment op het andere veranderde dat totaal…Storyline:
In war-torn Shogunate Japan, Azumi (Aya Ueto) is a beautiful young girl who has been trained from childhood with nine other orphans to become a fearless assassin. Martial arts master Gessai (Yoshio Harada) has raised the ten children in complete seclusion in the hope that his protégés will one day defeat the merciless warlords and restore peace to the land. To test that they are the ruthless killers they will need to be for the mission, Gessai orders them to pair off and fight to the death. Burdened with the cruel mission to kill friends and enemies alike, and sacrifice innocent lives Azumi begins to question her fate but Gessai leaves them neither room nor time for self-doubt as his trap ensnares them. Azumi and her remaining friends forge ahead, unaware of the terrible bloodshed that awaits them...
'Azumi' is a frantic CG-assisted Japanese 'Jidai Geki' (period drama) from cult director Ryuhei Kitamura starring Jpop siren Aya Ueto as teenage assassin Azumi leading a band of 5 warriors on a mission to restore peace to the land.

6 samuraifilms uit begin jaren zeventig waarin een ronin samurai met zijn 3-jarige zoontje in een zwaarbewapende houten kinderwagen het land doorreist en daarbij opdrachten aanneemt om mensen te vermoorden. ZO COOL! Ik heb de serie nu inmiddels al 3 keer bekeken en ben op zoek naar de dvds van de gelijknamige tv-serie die ook in de jaren zeventig is uitgezonden..
Affijn, ik kan zo nog wel even doorgaan :D . Japanse films rule wat mij betreft.
