Gisteren waren er op sherdog veel discussies hierover omdat Saku (of iemand die er op lijkt) met een masker opkwam en sommigen het niet geloofden.

Het lijkt nu echter toch officieel te zijn getuige de foto en het verslag van een persconferentie op de volgende site:

In a hotel press meeting, Kazushi Sakuraba, alongside FEG President Tadaharu Tanigawa and HERO'S Producer Akira Maeda, officialized his move to K-1's HERO'S promotion. The man, who appeared on the live broadcast of the May 3rd HERO'S card sporting a variation of the mask of famous puroresu star Tiger Mask, appeared here in a new suit to match his newfound enthusiasm for the move, saying that he plans on doing his best in his new environment and plans on giving great fights.

Akira Maeda expressed his desire to acquire Sakuraba as a member of the HERO'S roster, saying that he jumped on the opputurnity as soon as he'd discovered Sakuraba had left Takada Dojo. Maeda also spoke to Sakuraba's pivotal role as the Japanese fighter who inaugurated the popularity of MMA in Japan, saying that such a man deserved every bit of respect and treatment.

Sakuraba took centerstage again and in turn expressed his liking for Tanigawa and Maeda. He then went on to mention Kultar Gill, also known as "Black Mamba", as a possible opponent to humour the audience in attendance. On the subject of his new gym, Sakuraba expressed a desire to have the gym open in the course of a year and to be a fully indenpendent establishment.

Sakuraba held no hard feelings for his former employer in PRIDE, stating that if he could compete in both the PRIDE and HERO'S rings simultaneously, he would. He also mentioned that he'd take advantage of strong relations between the rival companies in the future if they came to fruitition.

de volgorde klopt alleen niet. Tegen Sak wordt ie toch gesubmit en dan krijgt ie echt geen kans meer tegen Silva want die gaat toch straks stoppen. Beter dat Manhoef eerst Silva in elkaar poeiert (ik zie t m nog doen ook), en dan tegen uit gaat komen tegen Sakuraba......

maar even on topic. Pride was en is toch de shit..... maar als het zo doorgaat draaien steeds meer sterren Pride de rug toe en dat is toch jammer
