Nadat eerder op o.a. Sherdog bekend werd gemaakt dat Randleman vanwege een infectie opgelopen na een schouderoperatie zich teruggetrokken heeft uit zijn geplande partij tegen Belfort, is nu bekend gemaakt dat Alistair de vervanger voor Randleman zal zijn!!!!

MMAWeekly.com has learned that Alistair Overeem will face Vitor Belfort at the next Strikeforce card. Belfort was orginially scheduled to face off against Kevin Randleman, but Randleman had to pull out due to a pre-existing injury.
Overeem vs Belfort is a rematch from when the two fought at Pride's Total Elimination back a year ago last April where Overeem won by guillotine choke. Belfort will try for revenge this time around.
The fight most likely will take place at the 210 pound weight limit. MMAWeekly.com has learned that was talk about Mark Coleman stepping in for Randleman but that there was question if Coleman had enough time to drop to 210 pounds to take the fight.
The only concern that Strikefoce had about Overeem was if he would be able to get his work visa in time to make the fight, but as of now they have worked out the travel issues and it appears the deal will get signed.
