Mundine may face Joval!
Sunday, September 17 2006
Former WBA super middlleweight champion Anthony Mundine will make a trip to the USA soon to see a foot specialist before his next planned fight in November. There are rumours the opponent could be Raymond Joval who currently hold a minor body (IBO) world middleweight title. Joval has mixed with other Australian world class 160-pounders Sam Soliman and Shannan Taylor. He has a win and a loss against IBF #3 middleweight Soliman and defeated former world (IBF) middleweight challenger Taylor inside the distance.
Mundine is also about to complete his first album as a rap singer. "I see this is as a way to express who I am," Mundine said. "So many people get the wrong idea who I am because so many people in the media do not like me and are straight out racist." Mundine won the WBA 168-pound title when he defeated Antwun Echols. He's lost to IBF super middleweight champion Sven Ottke and WBA champion Mikkel Kessler in title bouts.
