Jake Shields vs. Renato "Charuto" Verissimo
Round One: Jake opens up throwing kicks to the body and legs. They clinch and "Charuto" gets a takedown, but Shields gets back to his feet. The two clinch along the fence, exchanging knees to the body. Shields gets a takedown and works punches to the body inside of Verissimo's guard. Shields stands and throws punches from there before dropping back into Verissimo's guard. Renato goes for a Kimura, but doesn't get it. Shields gets the mount position. Shields landing punches at will. Referee Mario Yamasaki stops the fight.
Riki Fukuda vs. Joey Villasenor
Round One: Fukuda takes Villasenor down after a brief feeling out period. Fukuda passes Villasenor's guard and is in side-control and works for an arm-triangle choke. Joey escapes and gets back to his feet. They clinch and exchange punches to the body. Fukuda lands a kick to the body. Fukuda sets up a double leg takedown following a punch to the body, and quickly works some ground and pound. Fukuda passes to half guard, but Joey gets back to his feet. Villasenor hurt Fukuda with a punch. Both fighters throwing big shots. Villasenor with a kick to the head. Fukuda took it to Joey in the beginning of the round, but Joey came back with effective striking as the round went on. MMAWeekly scores round one 10-9 for Fukuda.
Round Two: Pace has slowed a bit. Fukuda goes for a double leg, but Joey sprawls and fends it off. Joey sets up head kicks off of left hooks, and is landing them. Fukuda with a combination before clinching Villasenor. Fukuda works shots to the body within the clinch. The referee seperates them. Fukuda presses the action. They clinch along the cage. They're seperated again. Joey with a punch-kick combination followed by another high kick that's blocked. Fukuda catches a kick and takes Villasenor down. Wild scramble to close the round. Round Three: Joey opens the round with a body kick. Big left hand by Fukuda. Joey fights back with a left hand of his own followed by a head kick. Fukuda with a kick to the body. Fukuda gets a takedown and immediately moves to half guard. As Fukuda goes for full mount, Villasenor sweeps and ends up in Fukuda's guard. Fukuda busy on the bottom and gets back to his feet. Wild exchange with both guys landing punches. The round ends with Joey trying for another high kick. MMAWeekly scores round three 10-9 for Villasenor.
Tonya Evinger vs. Gina Carano
Round One: Carano opens with two leg kicks before Evinger takes her down and lands in side control. Evinger works some ground and pound before going for a guillotine from side control. Carano sweeps and lands in Evinger's half guard. Carano lands punches and Carano takes Evinger's back. Carano works for a rear naked choke. Evinger taps out.
Mike Aina vs. Nick Diaz
Round One: Aina lands a leg kick and tries to counter punch as Diaz moves in. Aina lands body shots and avoids being hit as the fighters clinch. Aina has the faster hands and is landing shots, but Diaz not phased. Diaz landing shots to the body from the clinch. Aina slips, but bounces back to his feet. Diaz comes on as the round nears it's end. Very close round. MMAWeekly scores it 10-9 for Aina.
Round Two: Diaz pressing the pace but Aina makes him pay. Aina knocks Diaz down with a right hand. Diaz back to his feet and back to moving foward. Diaz throwing a lot of punches, but it's Aina donig the most damage. Diaz ties Aina up along the cage and tries for a takedown. Aina fends it off. Big body shot by Aina, but Diaz continues to pepper him with strikes. Diaz is cut. Aina looks to be tiring. Diaz gets the fight to the ground and immediately moves to mount. Aina gives up his back. Round One: The first 30 seconds saw both fighters circling. Lawler gets a takedown, but Rua back to his feet. Rua moving forward, Lawler waiting to counter. Ninja wiht a right hand. Now Lawler moving foward, cutting off the cage. Ninja working a few low kicks. Back to back inside leg kicks by Rua. Ninja doing damage with leg kicks. High kick by Lawler to end the round. MMAWeekly scores the opening round 10-9 for Rua.
