The first round of M-1 Challenge took place in Holland with the clash of four national teams. Fighting in their homeland, Holland absolutely annihilated the German opposition by winning the five fights by KO or submission. Captained by Remco Pardoel and Bob Schrijber, the orange team counted on new talents and on the experienced star Gerard Nousasi (20-2-1) to dominate the ring. Franco de Leonardis (9-3-0) and Daniel Weichel (14-4-0) were the big names on the German side but they were surprised by two Dutch newcomers. The next clash – Russia vs France – was more balanced and finished with a French victory by 3-2. Bendy Casimir (11-4-2), from France, won his bout and has now seven straight victories, being one of the hottest French rising talents. In the main event of the night (super fight), homeboy Dave Dalgliesh (25-17-2) set the crowd on fire by knocking Brazilian fighter, Bruno Carvalho (3-2-0), out, in the first round.
